It is still in the paper. It was moved from the front page to the State News page.

It's there. They moved it to the State News page and it is usually in green on the right hand side.

I agree pushing it in your face every day serves no purpose. It only raises concern and anxiety, wear a mask and Social distance and keep safe.

Very strange paper.

No editorial page. The columnists are mostly conservative but news article mostly come from AP and they are very liberal.

As a result no idea what the actual political view of the paper is.

Perhaps if it had a living breathing editor we could figure it out.

And I will opine that the flu doesn’t kill a likely 250 thousand humans. Sure you should get an with life but under a new normal until this is under control, which it is not. Cases and deaths are not decreasing in spite of words from Washington, Tallahassee or The Villages.

Is there such a paper? The Daily Sun leans right as do the majority of residents here.

The Tampa Blade, The Orlando Sentinel, The Miami Herald, The New York Times, The Washington Post all lean left.

Actually, on September 7th, one month ago, there were 1,838 new cases in Florida. Yesterday it was 2,251

Now, maybe YOU might understand. There is absolutely no evidence that this is declining rapidly. Now that TV and DeSantis has opened everything up and continues to downplay the severity, numbers are likely to increase.

Here in TV, it's all about encouraging The Villages Lifestyle to sell houses, golf rounds and alcohol/food to the returning snowbirds. Otherwise, why return to 2 people per golf cart and open up Rec Centers and restaurants to full capacity and only encourage the wearing of masks?

Nowhere (The Daily News, here, other sites) have I read the number of people in The Villages who have died from COVID. Months ago I read that the number was 4. I am sure that number must have gone up. Is this information being withheld? County totals appear regularly, but nothing for The Villages alone. I believe The Villages encompasses parts of Sumter, Lake, and Marion Counties. I believe people who live here would like to be kept informed of OUR total.

Comparing only one day to another has actually zero statistical significance.

If you compare two longer periods the data becomes more useful. That shows daily cases has come down.

Having said this IMHO opening up the villages as quickly as they are now doing it is dangerous.
