Default daily sun

I would like to know why there is nothing written about all the construction south of 466a
And brown wood in the construction up date it is the same old news. About not pritting the daily TV grid I an very disappointed there are a lot of items that could be reported that would be of interest to local people. I thought it was a local paper with local input I can get all the world news via computer and TV.

I would also like to see a map of what south of 446a is proposed to look at. Where will Brownwood be? What are the proposed plans for grocery stores, etc out that way.

I do not know why they are keeping it a secret.

I am in my 14th year living here and at no time have we been shown the master plan for any of the areas the Morse family has developed. He gives us information a little at a time. For instance I have a copy of The Daily Sun dated January 23, 2007, where it reported on the "Third Downtown, Brownwood". There is a sketch of the plans and the article states that this Town Square will have essentially similar amenities as the other two. Access to Brownwood, by those of us who live in The Villages, will be primarily by Buena Vista Blvd. As to what grocery stores and other shopping there will be, I'm sure that will follow, just as these kinds of businesses have sprung up along 441, 466, 466A and surely to come along 44. No doubt the developer knows who some of these businesses are. No doubt he already has leases ready to be signed by those who want "in" on the action. Information on who these businesses are will be gradually released to us as the development of this new area continues. Based on what I have seen in the past 13 years there is no doubt that there will be all kinds of shopping and lots of eateries. Spanish Springs wasn't even completed when I moved here so you can imagine how exciting it has been to watch the growth there, then Lake Sumter Landing, and now Brownwood. I wouldn't have missed this for anything! Keep reading The Daily Sun. Whatever you need to know WILL be printed as development continues!

Maybe because

There is many a slip t'wixt cup and lip.

It ain't over 'til it's over.

There is no pee in Lake Sumter.

Lots of things can change.

It depends.

We don't need to know so we don't say mean stuff.

Because they're the boss, that's why.

They don't need us to be sidewalk superintendents.

It takes the mystery out of it.

If they don't say then they can change on the fly. Once said then folks will hold it as gospel as it pertains to opening day (estimated), amenities, structures, stores etc. it's a WIP........

The Sun would weigh 3 more pounds if they had everything....they don't even have the Southern Trace tunnel updates....

Could it be because the "newspaper" is actually more of a home sells tool than anything else?

graciegirl, the correct saying to "The Golden rule. Them that gots the gold makes the rules" is, Them that has the guns makes the golden rule.

Since they got rid of the TV grid they freed up almost a full page for more info on the tunnel, etc

The TV street map I got last April shows Brownwood at the far southwest corner of the development between 44 and 44A, and just west of Buena Vista, which winds to the southwest south of 466A.

It seems to me the only construction south of 466A is houses, a couple of rec centers, and the movie theater. Other than that they are just pushing dirt for the next country club course and some initial site work for Brownwood. No real updates and don't need the Daily Sun to tell me that.

Here are a couple of maps that may help. Brownwood as announced in the Daily Sun, at the annual "State of The Villages" and discussed on this site many times will be located between 44 & 44A near and west of Buena Vista Blvd.
As to plans for grocery stores, etc.....I doubt you will see any specific announcements until plans are complete, ( as posted by another ).

I don't see that "they" are keeping anything a secret.
