I have heard all of the comments (pro/con) about the Daily Sun, but it sounds like despite its narrow view, it is the one to get if you want to know what is going on in TV. So, question 1: how much does a subscription cost?

My second question is, if you want to have another paper delivered, can you do that? Since the streets are public and since deliveries by such companies as UPS are allowed, I assume that I could subscribe to something like USA Today if I wanted. Yet, I think I read on one of these threads that USA Today delivery was not allowed in TV. Can this be? What about the Orlando paper?

I recommend locating the USA Today toll-free telephone number on their website and talking to them directly. They are very helpful. I don't believe there is a paper you cannot have delivered if the newspaper source is willing to do so.

It is possible to have several papers delivered to homes in TV. One that comes to mind is the Orlando Sentinel. I believe you can also pick up USA Today at mail stops. NY Times can also be purchased at several supermarkets and drug stores in TV. There may also be others that can be delivered.

I live in Springdale and have the USA Today delivered.

If you are in an area that doesn't have delivery, don't get it delivered in the mail. As you would expect it comes the day following the print date.

We get both The Wall Street Journal and The Daily Sun delivered. While I often find fault with The Daily Sun I wouldn't miss it for the world. It is a great paper for Village information.

The New York Times is not available for home delivery in TV. It can be found in very limited quantities (example: Barnes & Noble told me they are only allowed 3 copies on Sunday even though they have repeatedly asked for more). USA Today can be purchased from a vending machine at most neighborhood recreation centers.

I just got back from the Craft show at Lake Sumter Landing. There was a booth selling subscriptions to The New York Times at 50% off if purchased today. I would assume it would be for home delivery---did not stop at booth to find out details.

I read your message too late to run down to LSL and check out your observation of a NY Times distributor. I can't imagine why they'd be at a craft show. Anyway, according to the New York Times web site home delivery is still not an option in TV. They offer a digitized version or a copy sent to your computer each day. You can also have it mailed to you with a lag of 2-3 days. New orders routinely get a 50% discount for the first 12 weeks.

Perhaps there is a distributor trying to judge the amount of interest in home delivery. If so, I would think they would be present at a Vendor Night as well.

This afternoon I went to the Craft Show at LSL and there was a booth with a man selling subscriptions to the N. Y. Times. He acknowledged that the Times web site still shows that home delivery is not available in TV. However, he works for a national distribution company that has been hired by N. Y. Times Publishing to determine interest in home delivery. He said he's had a lot of interest and signed up quite a few customers. I ordered Sunday delivery and he indicated service would start in ~3 weeks. There was some discussion that home delivery might be by the same independent company that delivers the Orlando Sentinel. I suspect once this starts happening you can order The Times from their web site or by phone. This is a good thing for TV.
