I also have used Wella haircoloring for many years. So when I got to TV, I was shocked to find only 2 salons that carry Wella. Believe me I called nearly all listed for TV area. Some of the salons I talked to were kind of snooty saying "oh that's an old brand, we only use the newer brands and formulations" basically indicating that old is not as good as new brands or formulations. One salon that uses Wella is Urban Hair Studio which is where I go and the other is Chadia's (spelling?) in Lady Lake which I have never been to. I have been going to Whitney for a year now at Urban. Just like my former hairdresser of many years, she does not cut my hair exactly the same each time as there are always slight variations and that is OK. I do have to remind her sometimes to cut out aroud my ears and not too short in the back. I have lots of hair and it will grow out. No biggie. No, she does not blow dry and style my hair the way I like, neither did my old hairdresser. Depending on what I am doing that evening, I will redo the blowout and style. That is OK too. But, the key is that she got the basic haircut RIGHT and color RIGHT and that is important to me. As she got to know me ( I go every 4 weeks), she suggested some small changes in color and highlights. I liked her suggestions to lighten up a bit. So, I will stay with her and recommend her to others.

Try the Salon Profesional Academy off of 466 near Wal-Mart. Some of the up-and-coming stylists are very good with perms, cuts and color. I have not tried them for pedicure or manicures. Keep in mind they are students, so it will take longer as every step they do is checked by an instructor before they go forward with the service. They always run specials. This month (March) I believe it is cut/shampoo/style for $9.00. Good luck...the add on charge that you received at Tuscany would burn me up as well.

I'm still learning my way around. I'm a Wella girl as well. Where is Urban Hair Salon located? Val

It's off of 466, across from Walmart but closer to the 301 end. If you go north on 301, turn right on a little street JUST before the light at 466, and it's on the left half a block down. The street parallels 466.

Default Day spa and salon

IT IS NOW TIME TO PUT THIS TO REST--PLEASE

We learned many things with the origional post:
First of all I would like to say my experience there was very nice--Emily did a great job on my hair and I was more than satisfied!

The problem was the additional charge on my credit card of which I did not discover until I returned home to find the detailed bill on the bottom of the bag containing the products I purchased:
I called the salon to ask why they charged me the additional $32.00?
The girl on the phone was rude and said you were told of our pricing policy "we price ala carte" yes I was given a brochure that stated $37.00 for a partial perm" On the back of their brochure it quoted several prices for Hair finishing Services! The $32.00 appeared as shampoo finish of which I did not receive--In speaking with their rude manager I was told that the extra $32.00 was for rinsing the product off my hair--
When I made the appointment I was told that the price was going to be $37.00--I spoke with several people in the salon and asked the price and was told $37.00--If they had quoted me $69.00 total I would not be upset as I felt the price was reasonable AT $69.00--My complaint is the over charge as well as the very rude and snippy attitude of their manager when I called.
It was most discusting and uncalled for, to say the least!
As the former owner/manager of the Travel Connection of Beverly Hills located in Beverly Hills California, my clients included some very wealthy and very famous people, I would not have had a wonderful client base and over sixteen million dollars in sales, over each of the ten years I owned the businss!! As the saying goes THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT AND WORD OF MOUTH IS YOUR BEST MODE OF ADVERTISING!
I WILL NOW SIGN OFF FROM THIS SITUATION AND I AM IN HOPES EVERY ONE LEARNED SOMETHING FROM MY POSTING!
RUDNESS IS A NO NO AND UNCALLED FOR IN ANY INDUSTRY!

Even if she doesn't, the term sounds so cool I want to use it somewhere.

I am still bewildered as to who would sign for an extra $32 on a credit slip.

Surely (don't call me Shirley) one would know approximately how much the extra items would have cost before signing the credit slip.

As for one who doesn't know how much something costs before signing the credit slip - it is in your best interest to know these things BEFORE putting your signature on the dotted line.

I'm sorry, you get 0% sympathy from me.

The party's over, buggy. Doran made a mistake. There are a lot of reasons as to how this could happen, but it's time to sign off on it, like she said. I'm sure it's a learning experience, for a lot of us as well as for Doran. I agree with putting this to rest.
