I don't think the Political Forum should be shut down and I can tolerate the locker room language and the racist dogma but Tal is a real person who has been very honest about his challenges. It is the same thing day after day calling him boy and saying he is a loser because he lives with his parents and isn't employed. It goes far past being insensitive.

Sometimes political disagreements become heated and there is a lot of name calling but this is plain school yard bullying by people who have all of the things that Tal doesn't.

If it continues I will expose their screen names on the real forum and copy their taunts and bring them here which will get me thrown off this forum. I don't care.
Actually I did a little legal work for another nice woman last year. Just law librarian stuff. Helping her deal with her dog that got attacked by a much bigger dog. I must say though that sometimes I fell like this nurse's pooch after she was picked up and tossed around by this German Shepherd/dachshund mix. And she had a Spanish speaking Federal agent assisting her too when the dog got mauled. The little dog is doing quite well the last I heard. So, I am not exactly unemployed. I do other stuff but do not talk about it on TOTV.

The nurse does not like computers that much so I doubt if she is on TOTV but her sister or her sister's friends could be. The sister of the nurse is also a Villager.

And I live with parents because I am a care giver for them as well. I could go up to DC to live with my older brother or could go to other relatives in other parts of the US if I were not helping out my parents quite a lot. The neighbors also help a great deal too.

Get a bigger dog?????----In other words avoid them or meet them with (figurative) overwhelming force.

Me too. Ecuadog has always been a positive force whom I enjoy reading.

Tal, you know me (golden in the pool at DDRR) and know I support you 100%. I don't participate in the political forum because the negativity is so stressful to read. But I'm behind you in spirit, if not in print.

The nurse does have a huge pit bull mix so I get where you are coming from. The little dog slipped out of the house and got attacked by a neighbor's German Shepherd/dachshund mix. Now that is a weird breed mix owned by someone whose English is often not that good. Thus the need for a Spanish speaking Fed. The Fed and the nurse were dating obviously.

The dachshund mix would have had a problem with the very big pit bull if it had got out rather than the little innocent and sweet white dog.

I just hate it when they attack me relentlessly because I appear like someone who is down-and- out and they need to start kicking. Like constantly calling me wackadoodle. More intersesting than Wackadoodle's library thread I did have a mental breakdown in April of 2000 the circumstances of which I reported to both the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office on September 18, 2002 in person at their Headquarters and to various FBI offices around the country. But, I have been on an even keel since I had my boat rocked back in 1999-2000. That was something a lot more sinister though which I believe the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office accepted but refused to investigate. I did get out of the Headquarters after handing them over quite a lot of documents supporting my story. The detective I talked to said that what had happened to me was not protected by the Criminal Laws of the State of Florida and I was not going to argue with a man who turned out to be a Homicide Detective. He just happened to be the Detective on call when I walked into the Sheriff's Headquarters.

Yes. I know many people at DDRR. Very nice owners there and I crossed paths with one of the DDRR owner's kids yesterday working somewhere near DDRR. I bought a new Mr. Coffee pot for my Dad for Father's Day while out-and-about. I have been going to DDRR since November of 2006 when looking for a dog at one of their adoption events. Met Petie and Holly there. Or saw them for the first time.

I know that the Political Forum on TOTV has a reputation of being extremely nasty but it is up to us to change it. I have tried the Ignore List but when a thread starts with a reference to a post I made on the Just for Fun Thread I just had to look at this. I am deeply offended by this use of "rode on the short bus" in Korean phrase.

I did not know the forum is for seniors. I retired young. What is the age requirement? I have to admit I did not read the TOS.

Tal, those bullying you are second and third tier wannabes. In their minds doing so raises their status. In actuality, they are pathetic losers and have been all their lives.

I think the OP should follow the old bar rule...no discussing politics or religion. Those are hot button issues at any age and I think with 4 degrees the OP would be educated enough to understand that.

Makes no sense to me to go into the political forum then come here and complain because your feelings got hurt.

A Political Forum should be for mature discussion of the issues not for personal name calling that does not help any debate whatsoever. This is not the Junior High School bath room stall.

It is not for just Seniors but Seniors make up 80% or so of Villagers. I moved here with my parents in 2005 when I was 46 from Palm Harbor, Florida. Been on TOTV since July 2007. 25, 507 posts and have made a lot of friends on here. Many are lurkers who never post.

That depends on whether or not you believe mature adults can have a reasonably intelligent discussion of either politics or religion without reverting to the behavior of 3rd graders.

This week while talking to a friend the subject of social media came up. We talked about "Next Door", where posters are helpful, not hateful. She voiced a strong dislike for TOTV because of how rough and rude the posters are here and said she doesn't come here anymore. She was unaware that she can hide the political forum by clicking the "Hide Classified" button.

I think the moderators should install a separate red button, "Hide Political", in plain site, or require a separate "Sign In" to enter that forum. Allowing political forum posts to mix with those in the general forum gives a really bad taste of what the people who live in The Villages are like.

WE talk about politics at Doggie Doo Run Run a lot but our dogs keep us honest and they can sense when people are getting a little too upset for their own good.

And some people just walk away as soon as people start with the political stuff-- there goes Grace. A different Grace I know. I am acquainted with a lot of Graces.

And if a woman has a massive pit bull mix in tow I am very careful what I say around or to her. Or when she has a Fed as a friend.

I am not even sure some of these people are in the Villages. And the majority of posters on TOTV behave. There is a small group of extremely nasty posters on the Political Forum who feed on another's hate and often target anyone who looks weak to them. And that often brings out the worst in other posters as well.
