Absolutely. Just take your coin to any casino. They will be happy to count it and give you cash back for it. No charge. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any casino closer to The Villages than Hard Rock in Tampa.

Vystar CU has coin machines in their lobbies. I haven't used them so I don't know if there is a surcharge or not. I know some coin machines will give full value if you select an electronic gift card. There was one near our house in Virginia that had Amazon cards. Since we buy stuff from Amazon, it seemed like the best option. The machine's website listed what gift card options were available at different locations. In the last four years, I have probably only gotten a handful of coins so not a problem any more.

Cashless looked like a takeover but now that fees are so high, people are charging extra fees to use a credit card and are asking for cash or checks. I guess life is really a circle after all.

The solution is to spend the coins as you get them. I pay with exact change every time I can. Reminds me of when I was young and most things were bought with change; 5 cent bottle coke, penny candy, etc. You only accumulate change if you don't take a moment to count it out; my wife does even if I'm in a hurry.

How much does Walmart coin machine charge? It allows you to declutter your pockets or piggy banks by getting rid of unwanted coins while providing convenient options for converting them into usable funds. In summary, as of December 2023, customers using the Coinstar machine at Walmart should expect an 11.9% processing fee if they choose to receive cash.Dec 16, 2023 |

Yes, you can Google "coinstar locations"....the machine has some options that do not extract a fee. But even 7% fee is worth not having to waste time counting and wrapping!!

I get those too. Also, some people act like they have never used a credit card machine when it is time to pay.

There are coin machines in Publix and Winn Dixie. At Winn Dixie I put my jar of change in and choose an Amazon gift card as payoff and the fee is waived. There might be other options.
