You dare to talk common sense and expect we, The Villagers aka God's Chosen People, to wait patiently? We want what we want when we want it and we want it NOW! Waaaah...me first!

Gov is doing what he can with what is given to him.
If someone can find a magician to conjure up more vaccine, give him or her a call. If getting the vaccine does not help, why take it? Toilet paper shortage in early days, stupid. Toilet paper shortage now, stupid. Sanitizer shortage in early days, now there are millions of gallons of the stuff everywhere. Stop whining. |

Now we can reasonably expect to be getting first vaccine before end of Feb so all is well, or at least as can be expected in these trying times. |

And “They “ keep “ Your “ amenity rate lower then they would be. “They” pay county taxes and are the reason You have the shopping choices available. Old time Villages did there shopping in Ocala. Suck it up buttercup. They will be gone in 3 months

But...the powers that be have had since MARCH to get a plan in place and prepare....and they DID NOT! That is the problem.

Many are under the misconception that the vaccine is a home-free card when it's not! Sure, getting the vaccine MAY help prevent catching the virus, but more likely it means that if you do catch the virus, your symptoms will be less severe with the vaccine on board. Face it, coronavirus is here to stay. It's not curable. We may well need a yearly booster shot, just like a yearly flu shot to manage it, and like the flu, it will mutate into different strains. The reason it's been so bad this past year is the human body hasn't seen the likes of this virus before and it takes time for the body to recognize it, just like different strains of the flu. Not minimizing the danger of this virus, by any means. It's just too new and we don't know enough about it to deal with it. As a country, we were ill-prepared for something like this. It normally takes years of testing and trials to safely get a vaccine that will do what is intended with minimal side effects. The government has instilled fear in all of us over this virus and now those most vulnerable are in a panic and desperate to get a vaccine that MAY (or may not) help solve the problem.

Governors, world leaders, kings/queens, bosses earn the respect they get or not based on what they say and do (or don't).
All too often they say what "they think" a given audience wants to hear.....then off to the next one. One of the best measures of performance is promises kept. Those earning the highest performance rating have a plan that leads to a promise being kept. When something causes the result to slip or slide off plan, the plan allows for corrective action to communicate what is happening and how actions taken will result in recovery to the plan (promise made). A perfect example of a lack of planning was the opening of the GMR dose dispensing area....making appointments.....running out of vaccine.....shutting down and literally folding up their tents.....NO COMMUNICATIONS FOR WEEKS!!!! No excuse given all the real knowns that go into generating the action in the first place. "Doing the best one can" is a noble assignment that allows not keeping the original promise. Very simple formula......only say what you are going to do and do what you said you were going to do as measured by promises kept. The lubricant that keeps the plan on track in the eyes of those affected? COMMUNICATE. COMMUNICATE. COMMUNICATE. Now we wait and see how well the most recent promises will be kept. |

Why take the shots? Uh, so the person who takes the shots has no chance of dying and a very high chance of not getting sick at all. There is so much information out there about these vaccines.

I signed up my mother and me on the Lake County website last week. We received a call yesterday and have appointments on Friday. Very easy process. Some of my neighbors got appointments for next week. I’m sure many Villagers are taking advantage of this process.

I realize supply is the issue. but having the governor popping in all over the state touting his success only to have more confusion doesn't help. it's crazy....people are waking up to get on Publix site and wait for hours, people who signed up for GMR were left in limbo for days, scheduling by calling instead of using online....I thought the recent site for Floridians to sign up to thru dept. of healths made the most sense. Now, it's back to GMR again....leaving people wondering what to do. Saying "Seniors First" is a great catch phrase but leaving seniors to participate in this mad scramble for vaccine is hardly putting them first. what's needed is a centralized system where people know when to realistically expect to receive a vaccine.
