Default Designer Homes with Fences?

Looking at moving to TV in the next year, so wondering if any of the designer homes are allowed to have fences (we have 2 small dogs). If so, are the homes in any particular area of TV?

Thx,

guzzel

Guzzel, do a search on this site for the houses, but be warned, we have several predators and small dogs would be fair game. A fence will not keep out coyotes, hawks, owls to name a few.

I believe that the newer Veranda homes are meant to be a hybrid between a courtyard and a designer home, meaning a fenced in Designer-style home. In fact that's how they are described on the Villages website.

Yup, Verandas are just Designers with a wall/fence.

Agree with Village TInkerer - you dont want any dogs out alone (especially small ones).

We like our large screened in birdcage for the dog. It has areas of shade.
Take him out onto the grass a few times a day.

No, designer homes are not allowed to have fences.

On the other hand, veranda homes have floor plans like designer homes and they come with a fence.

Veranda homes, south of 44. Also, Village of Pine Ridge, Wise Way - homes have fences. Also, homes on Nash Loop which is near the Havana Country Club.

Agree, larger dogs while a challenge have been fair game. We never let out cat even in the lanai unless we are there. We have bobcats, coyotes walking in our back yard, and on the fence tops. Plus fenced yard is a captive area without a way out

Verandas are Designer Homes with fenced back yards. You can do a search on the Villages homes for sale by the Veranda category. I think Fenney was the first Village to have Verandas and now I think most new Villages have a Veranda neighborhood. We live in a Veranda neighborhood and love it.

The designer homes with fences are called Verandas. They are fairly new and only built in the new area south of highway 44. However, unlike true designer homes, the Verandas can’t be custom built. You have to buy whatever they build and release. We were lucky and got one that is 2350sf and a view of one of the larger ponds with lots of wildlife. Ours was finished with top of the line tiles, cabinets, hardware, lights, and designer wall colors and flooring. We didn’t have to change anything except upgrade the appliances LG Studio, and have the two master walk-in closets have built in cabinets to match the rest of the house which were a deep blue gray. The Verandas have the same floor plans as the designers but called by different names. My house is a Livingston, but it’s called a Bridgeport in the Designer series.

Your small dogs will be able to run and play, in a fenced yard.... but they can never be left out alone in Florida....... too many predators looking for an easy meal.

Thx all for the info; very useful.

We currently live in the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area, so familiar with various predators, but not the gators (at least where we live).

We frequently see rabbits in our yard.

One morning I saw something in our yard and it was lungs and a rabbits foot, probably left after an encounter with a bobcat or a coyote.

We threw out the foot and the birds soon took care of the lungs.

More than likely a hawk got it
