Thx,

In addition to the verandas, there is a section of homes in the village of Bradford with stand alone, railing type fences. A larger dog could jump them, but they are nice for smaller dogs. Best of luck with your search!

from our driveway camera, we see various 4 legged predators walking across / down our driveway at all times of the night, which has no houses across the street, and is adjacent to the hog eye preserve, so pick carefully how far away from open areas your house is, and how close any fences / walls might be. .

good luck, and we have indoor cats, who do not go out on the lanai at night. .

We currently live in the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area, so familiar with various predators, but not the gators (at least where we live).

Gators climb fences too. Google it if you do not believe me.

Default Designer Homes

Designer Homes used to have more flexibility. Now after Covid restricted supply plain, the villages has limited "design" to front, side, back, garage, patio stretch and that's about it. You can still pick colors counters etc.

Designer style homes typically DO NOT have fences. There are very few exceptions in resale and none in new sale. The few designer that have fences are typically south of 44 I believe. The Village of Desoto has a few off of Hensley Ave or Botner Dr. They seldom come up for sale.

Villages built homes with fences are called Verandas. They are the "designer" floorplans with different name but same general layout. They are all spec built ... as is. You can't design, and you pick what you pick and get what you get. It's great as long as the style you want is available and is facing the way you want and is the color you want and has the floors you want and the cabinetry you want and has the yard you want. All homes sell quickly so they don't bother with customizing the Verandas.

My advice is to find the floorplan you like and be on the lookout for when they go on sale. A realtor can help as many times the day of release almost ALL homes can be "pending" Villages of Moultrie Creek Verandas is a good example.

Wish I hadn't read this post.

Aren't lanais screened in here in The Villages? Doesn't the screen keep out predators?
