Having a dish on your roof has NOTHING to do with attracting lightning…..

Same as with folks that have lighting rods installed. Lightning rods DO NOT attract lightning !!

yes you can have dishes any where in the villages . Have used Direct and Dish network in my 20 years in T.V.

As may have informed you the ARC cannot prohibit you from installing a satellite dish or OTA. We live in the are near 44. The OTA wasn’t an option for us as we would not get a reliable signal after have an installer do an assessment. Never was happy with Direct due to loss of signal in heavy rain. Comcast is reliable but cost prohibitive. We have Spectrum for internet, cut the cord and steam all TV now.

If you lose your direct tv in the rain you just scroll down to the non hd station even during the hurricane that came through years ago o had tv all night. I’ve had direct for many years no problem, I can’t even remember the last time I had to call for technical issue and even if I had problems I wouldn’t leave them as long as they have the NFL ticket and yes mine is on roof but like many others in villages hard to see from street. I would never put one on the ground , I would be wary of lawnmowers

Yes you can have a satellite dish (ours is in back of the house). I don't think you can have it in the front of the house - heaven forbid if something like that could be seen from the street!! I would go with Dish Network as have had problems with Direct TV years ago and Dish has been much easier to work with and have many plans that you can have as much TV or as little as you want to pay for.

Unless the rules have changed , I would say yes. You’re not suppose to have an antenna on your house though but apparently TV don’t push that either. Just look around & you’ll see a lot of them. Dish are allowed because they do advertise. So if they advertise DirecTV I guess you can. The best way to find out is to call the front office & ask!

Actually an outside antenna will pull in an over the air signal which is at least 1080i and not compressed. Cable and satellite signals are compressed due to bandwidth limitations. The combination of an antenna and a smart TV for streaming is the best thing going. I wish Spectrum would stop with the junk mail. Their $44 a month for internet plus another $44 a month for basic TV is no deal.

use 4-K firestick with streaming service. much better, over 2,000 channels with all sports and local channels, movies (even those playing in theatre), all series without commercials. Contact me if interested. Streaming cost is only $27/Mth plus your wi-fi.

I LOVE Direct TV and had it for the NFL Ticket as well. When it rains, no problem, I'll watch something I recorded.
And I agree with you on technical support. I've had them for almost 20 years, and don't think I've called tech support, ever. Plus ATT has the best customer service around, hands down.

I've had Direct for many years and the worst thing to happen was the ATT buyout. Customer service was farmed out overseas and now pretty useless.
