Default Directv Service for Multiple Homes

We are snowbirds and are in TV Sept and Oct and then Jan,Feb.March and part of April.Currently we have Directv in TV and Comcast up north.
Directv has a great vacation plan,we put our service on hold when we head north and pay nothing when on hold.
I recently learned about the service for multiple homes offered by Directv.I cannot find much information about this plan so I am hoping folks on TTOV can provide the information.
Thank you for your help.

Good luck, I'm in the same boat and asked Direct tv, they said there was no plan for me. So I pay for 2 different homes even though I can only be in one at a time. Hope you find something.

OP, you might try a google search "direct TV vacation plan", it looked like there were some options. I do not have this service, so I did not go to any of the sites. Also, the google hints dropdown had some other alternatives.
hope this helps.

Talk with Comcast we travel with our box when we go up north and then bring it back home when we're done.

I called DIRECTV a week ago to add All In The Family to our Channel package. During the call I asked about the procedure to wrap it up in NJ and how to start up in TV. The representative sent me to another department and I'm thinking here we go. They charged me $12 for the additional channel, dropped the price a whopping $30 a month for being loyal and all I have to do is disconnect the main box and 4 genie box's and give them a ride to Florida. Over the years I have been thrilled with the service and the representatives have always offered a fix or a great alternative to any request. I was told to suspend my service and call when we land and they will send a service person with a new Satellite and we will continue onward. I suspect your problem may be that you have 2 accounts, you need to have 1 account that you suspend and move when you do. Good luck, hope it works out.

The way I read your post is that you are asking about having Directv at both your homes, but only having to pay one bill because you will only be using the service at one location at a time.

If you call the Mover's Department at Directv, tell them you want a "seasonal home setup". They will install a satellite dish at your second location. There will probably be an installation fee. You can keep the same receivers and just take them with you back and forth between the two houses.

That's what we did when we were snowbirds. The only thing is you have to call to change your location if you want to see your local channels.

But........you still have to "deal" with your internet setup with another provider.

I have directv in Ohio and here. Have used them for 18 yrs and well pleased. When snowbirding all I do is call to put Ohio on hold and activate our Village location. One account and I have never had to disconnect any boxes and take them with me.

Buckeye, I do the same but with two accounts and a twist. I leave the Ohio service on when we are traveling between the two homes because DirecTV offers a satellite service for our motor home for only $5 a month -treating it as an additional service in our home. Yes, we bought the satellite dish but the receiver and remote is theirs. Works great!
