Hope the link works, if not do a Google search, the Florida taxpayers could be on the hook for $2 BILLION if this goes through.

I hope this does not go completely political.....
Sorry, but this is already political. In what way will this change financially benefit the residents of Florida? This is a direct hit at Disney’s position on embracing all people. You are allowed your own position on this belief and so is Disney, as well as their desire to be a profitable business.

The OP doesn't want his post to go "political". So we need to remind ourselves that there is a huge difference between "politics" and "government". The OP is about a situation between our state government and a commercial entity. There is nothing about Dems or Reps or Independent parties.

So, when little Jimmy says my moms took me camping, and other kids ask him about his "moms" the teacher can't explain that love is love and some kids have two moms and some kids have two dads. The teacher has to shut it down, making Jimmy's family sounds terrible and sets Jimmy up for serious bullying. That's what the bill does, it's yet another dog whistle. Fixing a problem that's not a problem.

Complete waste of time debating this. Disney will adapt and raise prices. Life goes on

Thank you! Discrimination is obviously being encouraged by those who are unable to embrace love over fear.

DeSantis framed his bill to nullify special tax districts established prior to 1968. The Disney Reedy Creek district was established in 1967. No surprise because if he included all special districts, The Villages Developer would have been included!
Pretty transparent and an obvious attempt at punishing free speech. Let’s hope Disney puts it’s money into supporting candidates who aren’t running for the White House and actually represent all of their constituents.

Default Corrie Ten Boom; Some knowledge is too heavy for children

“Sex,” I was pretty sure, meant whether you were a boy or girl, and “sin” made Tante Jans very angry, but what the two together meant I could not imagine. And so, seated next to Father in the train compartment, I suddenly asked, “Father, what is sexsin?”
He turned to look at me, as he always did when answering a question, but to my surprise he said nothing. At last he stood up, lifted his traveling case from the rack over our heads, and set it on the floor.
“Will you carry it off the train, Corrie?” he said.
I stood up and tugged at it. It was crammed with the watches and spare parts he had purchased that morning.
“It’s too heavy,” I said.
“Yes,” he said. “And it would be a pretty poor father who would ask his little girl to carry such a load. It’s the same way, Corrie, with knowledge. Some knowledge is too heavy for children. When you are older and stronger you can bear it. For now you must trust me to carry it for you.” - from The Hiding Place: The Triumphant True Story of Corrie Ten Boom

We are asking our children to carry loads that are way too heavy for them. They should not be forced, as children, to see and feel the world through the lens of adults. Innocence is worth protecting and worth fighting for. We need to do our part as teachers, parents and caregivers to carry certain things for them until they are old enough to bear the load.
