Do we need a lawyer?
We are going to buy a house. I presume that I need a lawyer. Any suggestions or comments?

Yoda...if you are buying a new property from The Villages, you probably really don't need a lawyer. They have the whole process down to a science. I didn't have one and most everyone I have talked to did not engage a lawyer.
If you're buying a resale and especially if non Villages brokers are involved (or a FSBO), then, yes you should get a lawyer. Sorry, can't help you with any names. Make sure you let us know what model and neighborhood you bought into. Congrats!!!

As usual V07...
... gives great advice.
We bought new - always had lawyers previously in the NE and SC - did not need or use one in TV. k

The Villages have this process down to a science.
If it is new, no lawyer, just as these very astute ladies have said. You will see how very efficient this whole process is.
OH. And congratulations and WELCOME Yoda. I haven't had my coffee yet this morning. Hope you enjoy your new home for a thousand years and hope it is close to ours! |

We bought a resale and did not use a lawyer. Straightforward transaction with the realtors.

Of course you do
The only reason you would need a lawyer would be to protect yourself.
If you'd rather not do that, then of course, don't retain one. |
