Default Re-asking ,Trick or Treating

Hi All,

I'm new to TV and the only thing I find on trick or treating is from 2012 (latest). Has anything changed? While I like candy, eating a bowl of it sounds a little sickening.

Thanks

Have not seen house-to-house trick or treating in the Villages in the two years we have been here.

There is no trick or treating around here. Just seniors enjoying not having to answer the door.

I miss trick or treating. Kids cute little faces at your door, with cool costumes. We always had the street that was decorated to the max, we dressed up, the kids loved coming to our house. Our usual count was over 300.

So unlike some who just aged out of fun, in TV we go to one of the many churches that offer treating from their parking lot. Safe for the kids and still get to see the fun costumes. Brownwood also has a great party, and trunk treating usually a staple for kids in the nearby neighborhoods.

Many have private Halloween parties, we usually host one with about 40 people all dressed to their inter ghouls

There aren't any little kids living in the Villages, and Halloween isn't a school holiday. Most parents will want their kids trick or treating in their own neighborhoods. Though up north we sometimes had problems with kids actually getting bused to our neighborhood, total strangers, some not even bothering to wear costumes (that's how we knew they were total strangers) expecting us to shell out money not only for the kids who actually live there, but for the kids who don't.

Eventually it got bad enough that many of us shut our light off for Halloween and encouraged families with kids to participate in the "Trunk or Treat" festivities in the High School parking lot instead of going door to door.

T or T...............adults going door to door with their own drink cup.

Usually lasts about four houses.

They have Trunk or Treat with classic cars at Brownwood every year at a halloween themed event. No door to door in The Villages.

You have the self-control to wait until the next day?

That is actually an awesome thing. That way all the kids who live in adjacent areas or attend the Villages Charter schools can all enjoy. Since it's closed to vehicular traffic during the event, the kids have a safe place to wander, the Classic Cars are SO much more fun to get candy from than Mr. Johnson next door's tan Nissan Altima.

Not any more.

Living in Va we usually got a dozen or two kids come to the door. Found it fun to give out some bagged candy and than negotiate with kids to trade more for their snickers.

I used to be all into Halloween. Worked some haunted houses. Have not taken part in the holiday since before covid when I dressed up as the Reaper at work. Moving mouth mask, eyes flashing with lights, pretty scary. Halloween isn't nearly as fun as it used to be. I didn't expect to see kids trick or treating here so already knew that answer.
