Default Do you think The Villages will ever be "built out".....

...or do you think they will just continue to buy more land, build more villages and town squares?

Years ago, I was told by an "authority who should know" that The Villages would be totally "built out" by the year 2010. So it won't be long now...

It will never be built out because there are too many mouths to feed.
The Morse family, et al, will only keep growing and the possibility of unrest from within could be a real thing.
I only hope that we -- the residents -- are not the ones who suffer.

I am pretty sure they have enough dough to feed the Morse mouths for several generations and very well too. They may be concerned with keeping all of the workers working. That would be sensitive and kind. They have changed Sumter County from one of the poorest to a very low unemployment area. I love to see people working and not on welfare roles. Work brings dignity.

I don't know when it will stop growing. Who knows when anything will change or growth stop in any city.. I would rather the Morses build it and take care of it and decide on it than some other developer that isn't as wonderful. Someone is gonna keep building around here, better more of the same than a bunch of young people. Young people are aggravating the fool out of me right now with their protesting.

Couple of opinions..............

Villages crossed Florida Turnpike

Could this be more Villages following Fenney?

The Villages hopping south of the turnpike

We've only been here a year, but I have already begun to realize that slowly but surely the open spaces that I thought made TV attractive and not just a sprawling city are disappearing - such a shame.

Options to obtain land near the main section of TV is getting limited and golf cart access even less likely. A Google earth view shows many manmade and natural obstacles to overcome for a cost effective and reasonable plan to expand. The Village of Fenney operation and selling will tell us all how the future of TV may come to pass

Future development may come from Villages like Fenney that are not contiguous or land that is available for development after repurposing. Property north of 466 between Buena Vista and Morse for example.

I am not anxious for a build out, as I feel there is no better overseer than the Morse family.

As my sales agent said, probably not built out any time soon but future TV building may not be golf cart accessible to the rest of TV.

For me any part that is not GC accessible is not TV. So, IMO there will be a time that I would consider TV built out. And it may not be too many years out.

To answer your question with the information available to us... Most likely NOT.. the internal support services may not be able to keep up with the developer. Eg. response times for emergency services... water issues bound to be of question... Sumter County about to give away our water?
enough memory care.?. nursing care..? etc. Law enforcement always in the minds of residents.. etc etc. I know we all want to be the last to arrive... but please come to your senses whom ever may be in charge. I am not in the circle to worry about the unemployed bodies that keep on coming! Please come to a slow down and then just stop the additions... The residents I think are generallyl of this opinion?

The sky is not falling.
Response times emergency servicers....new facilities and staff have been added as new villages are developed.

Look around........more nursing and memory care facilities are being built....some question if there are too many.

Sumter county sheriff has added staff as the population has grown.

What unemployed bodies are you referring too??

Water issues. Yes, I agree no more bottling companies. By the way, that "problem" is up to us, to get in their way.
