Default Do You Use Your Patio?

We are considering having a patio installed. My question to those of you who have patios is...do you use them? Are mosquitos and bugs a problem? We would hate to spend the money only to find that we didn't use it. What advice do you have for us?

Hi. We enjoy our patio everyday. We did add the
Birdcage to keep out most critters, a fire pit for those
Cool winter days/nights, and a TV! Love the outdoors!

We had a patio added at last house---hardly ever used except to grill. Why use it when you have a screen lanai?

We are trying to decide the same thing and have been leaning more towards just a small patio next to a birdcage. Mosquitos just seem to have a thing for my husband so he's voting out the patio idea other than a small one big enough to park the BBQ.

We use it for grilling. We use it to sit in the sun. We use it to enjoy the stars. We will be installing a fire pit. We use it to dry out our pool towels.

We have a screened pool, screened lanai, and a patio for four years, use the patio a lot for sitting and grilling. If the bugs get irritating, we go inside the screen area. Our patio was well worth the cost. We love to cook outside, this shouldn't be done inside a screened area without a proper exhaust system, so our patio is perfect for this.

Our main concern is whether or not mosquitos or bugs would be so bad we wouldn't want to be outside. The view is spectacular and expansive across a golf course and a preserve and being outside with the nice breeze is appealing to us. That's why I was looking for first hand experience of those who have a patio. Do you use it as much as you thought you would?

We have a patio with a pergola and use it often, a few bugs on warm nights but no mosquitos. We over look Churchill golf course. It's on the Nort side of our house so it gets morning sun.

We have a lanai, bird cage and spa none of which we use and all of which we constantly maintain. We do a lot of grilling on the bird cage and that is a blessing.

I can't convince my wife that we would get better use if w enclosed the lanai and her response is always I don't want to be closed in. I want to remind her each and every day she ignores the lanai and the furniture we placed there but experience has finally taught me I am not going to win that argument but honey you don't use the lanai now and its open I should have had a V-8
