Good luck with your search for some place for your parents.

Look quite a bit more at TOTV. You should get a feel about whom to trust and whom not to. In March, go to some of the dog parks in the Villages if you love dogs and ask these people in person about the Villages. The people at Doggie Doo Run Run often sit around and talk about stuff. That's on CR101 and CR104 about a mile north of Southern Trace Shopping Center on CR466. There are people who come every once in a while just to check it out. And some of these have walkers, canes, etc.

We pretty much know one another too and will steer you clear of others who might pose a problem.

You do have to watch your valuables, unfortunately, at Doggie Doo Run Run but most of the time the nice people there will keep an eye out for fellow do lovers' well-being. Do lock your car though as every once in a while someone will have something go missing.

Some very good advice has been offered. Please, under no circumstances talk to, contact or meet with anyone other than someone with the VCCD, one of the numerous health care/residential facilities, or an active agent with the Villages sales team (you are not under any obligation). Good luck but know who you're dealing with.

This almost looks like one of those 'catch a predator' set-ups.
Of course, my attempts to re-unite people with their state held money has been attacked as a scam too... what a world this is becoming.

Too much info; number one post; very young suggesting very young parents, compared to many of us (I know it does not have to be).

I suggest the poster (and any tempted to volunteer) to remain ...guarded.

That did cross my mind too.

There are some retired cops at Doggie Doo Run Run. I would recommend anyone in the OPs situation who is visiting the Villages to check out DDRR, talk to a number of people, watch interactions of people and dogs, etc.

The realtors of course is a safe idea especially if all that is well documented and you go through the proper channels. Use the phone in other words not the Internet. Call them and do not have them call you. I would though feel safe calling here--
https://www.thevillages.com/homes/poh.asp

There are a lot of telephone scammers preying on the Villagers who call pretending to be someone they are not.

The other dog parks in the Villages I have been to do not seem to have as many very well established cliques as the people at Doggie Doo Run Run some of whom have been coming there a decade or more.

I tend to agree. I'm a skeptical sort anyway. I offered advice if by chance it was legit. It does sound like it could easily be a trap, one was or another.

People should be skeptical of stuff read on the Internet. With me that carries to what I see in the media as well unless I am checking multiple sources.
