I agree. For people who want it and pay for it, they will tend to like it. To others, it will be virtually invisible.

What material is your countertop? It's beautiful.

Ty! I think the correct term is poured epoxy resin. We are currently getting ready to do clear frosted counter tops which we have in our summer home and love it.

Not my taste nor style (I'm more of a traditionalist) but nonetheless beautiful and well done. Reminds me of some Manhattan apartments we've been to.

Crown molding really adds to the finished look of the house. We had 7 inch crown molding installed several years ago and virtually everyone who visits the house mentions it.

p.s. I looked up the spelling and apparently both "molding" and "moulding" are correct.

We have the opposite, 6 inch high and Grover baseboard. We do not like the door trim used as baseboard. 6 months after moving in we don’t notice it anymore, but I would notice that 3 inch band. The eye of the beholder.

Excellent point - caulking is essential to a good crown finish. I'd add that if they cope inside corners vs. miter the prevalance of cracks developing is signficantly less (almost zero if the house is built well). The outside corners depend on how square the walls are.

I wouldn't select a carpenter for crown that says they will miter inside corners.

Really like the look of your room; I think it looks good without the crown molding. Love the dog, though. Have a red and black myself.

Everyone in our neighbor put in crown moulding. It looks great.

Beautifully done! Crown mounding was a must in every home I owned in the north. Here in Florida I like the stream line look.

Dionysius, what is a clear frosted countertop? What is the material it’s made of? Your home looks beautiful!

Crown molding looks great and adds value to a home. IMHO.
