Default New Home on Baypoint Way

Just out of curiosity I was looking at the new homes available on the Villages website a few minutes ago. In addition to 103 Designer homes there are 2 Premier homes available. One of the Premier homes is on Baypoint Way. Look at what you can get for only $1,631,561. It has a three-car garage, golf car garage, swimming pool, hot tub, large summer kitchen, four bedrooms, 3/12 baths and an awesome view of Lake Miona. Take a look before it disappears from the website.

Here is a link to the home information: http://www.thevillages.com/homes/new...asp?vnh=168095

Very interesting, Howard.... that's the home we've discussed on another thread... much speculation (pun intended) about who it was being built for ... Mich coach Rich Rodrigues or a member of the Morse family. Looks now like it is a spec house. That may set the record for sales price in TV. Thanks for the link.

It's also interesting because the floor plan is listed as a Grandview II. The list of models includes a Grandview (premier home), but not a Grandview II.

A custom spec house? Is that a first in TV?

I thought that probably was the same house that was being talked about a couple of months ago. Seems sort of expensive for a spec home. Maybe a sales deal fell through. I can't decide whether to buy that one or maybe just buy seven or eight Designer homes for the same price. What a big decision.

Oh well, I guess I'll just hang on to the house that we are having built on Hollow Branch Way. The closing is only 55 days away. I have noticed that the clock seems to be moving a lot slower ever since we signed the contract for our new home. We can't wait to become Villagers!

This looks like a very nice house, but having driven by it and seeing how close it is to its two neighbors, I think some of the lots just down the road from it are far superior.

Default Seen the Grandview II before....

We have seen a Grandview II previously on TV website. When we asked our sales person about it, she said that they sometimes have "upgraded" models and just put the II behind the name.

Your sales rep. should be able to help, if you're interested in a Grandview II.

Gee, I might be tempted, but I think The Cat and I would have trouble finding each other with all those bedrooms and such! And, while the site seems ideal, it's far enough away that I'd probably need to trade my golf cart for a gas one!

So disappointing!

It's not the same house that we talked about before. There are currently 2 houses on that point, with a third lot still available. The house from before was actually contracted by someone. This is a "spec" house, if you can call a
$1.63 million house a "spec!" We have friends that live down the street from there.

No, this is the one we were talking about before -- it's the first house that was built on the point. The secnd house is smaller, under construction at the end of the road. The third lot that's unbuilt as yet is the first one you come to. I agree with Howard -- I bet a sales deal fell through. No way they would build a house this large and this customized without an intended buyer.

They had an open house this afternoon. I'll bet at least a thousand Villagers showed up to see what a $1.6 million dollar house looked like from the inside. Personally, I wasn't really impressed with the house but the outdoor living area was spectacular. Also, it strikes me that that area is a little far from shopping and town squares. Maybe if they drop the price by a million and a half I might be interested.

Thumbs up

Yes, there were at least a thousand of us there. It was impressive for sure especially the outdoor area.

We were two of the thousand (probably more like 3 or 4 thousand) who went thru the Open house today. Agree there was a nice outdoor area.
Still not sure what all the inside rooms would be used for - how many dining rooms do you need? Still, someone will probably buy it just to know they bought the most expensive home available in The Villages. We peons think they are way too far out from any town squares and I for one would get lost just getting there and back. Does that sound like I'm jealous?

It was open today and very nice. If I had 1.6 I might consider. I could handle the view in a heartbeat. An entertainers house for sure and certainly fun to wander around.
