Thank goodness that some dog owners are respectful of their neighbors property.
I would say most dog owners are respectful. I disagree painting most dog owners with the "disrespectful" characterization.

Understand your situation, but, Villages DOG problem is like comparing "apples to oranges", the point here is INTENTIONALLY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL people... how people handle their farm animals is a totally different subject, however, as I stated, I do certainly understand your situation. We used to have such problems here when a community (including the villages at one time) had parades with horses. You might also be aware that in larger U.S. cities, there are often horse drawn carriage rides for sight seeing. Horses, in many locals, must, by law, have properly fitted "receptacle" for "eliminations". In The V's, the problem is created by it being far to easy to walk dogs a block or two to the lawns of OTHERS.... crazy as it sounds, maybe dog diapers would be a good idea ? We don't let our very young children go eliminate on the neighbor's lawn. Have a neighbor one block down, has a very "nice" sign they are trying. It is not hand written (obviously purchased it some where) that simply says: PLEASE be respectful, no dogs. It has not made one iota of difference ! I don't think there is an answer, maybe the person who posted to collect it, follow the person, and throw it all in their lawn ? Even that would probably not get the attention of the type of people who take their dogs to destroy the grass of others.

What ??? I don't think anyone on here, certainly not me, "hates" anything. The discussion if RUDE PRIVILEGED people who OWN pets, nothing to do with hating any dog or pet and nothing to do with the dogs who have no idea NOT to soil the lawns of others ! The answer to "move", because you don't want to have your grand kids stepping in poop in your own yard, is exactly what is wrong with our country... NO understanding of others. Not everyone CAN afford to just up and move, would a more rational solution be just have your pet eliminate on your own property ? Easy, not at all "hateful", and no cost to just use your head and be respectful. These things do not have to as complicated as sell your house and move !

Why do you think the victim should have to move?? Why can't the dog owner just stay off other peoples property?? Show a little respect for your neighbors and the law. They have no right to a yard that is not their own. Dog owners are not special or privileged. If you can't or won't control your dog, then you shouldn't own one.
As to "tarred and feathered being an ignorant statement, I agree. But it is no more ignorant, and definitely not near as self-serving as "move to a community without dogs".
Do the right thing. Stay off other peoples lawns.

WRONG!
Not having animals does not eliminate self-entitled jerks who think they should have free access to your property and possessions. It does not preclude vile and disgusting individuals from all manner of horrible things. So your answer is wrong.

The correct answer, imHo, is, "we should all live together with respect for each other and stay off property you don't own." If we could simply do that there would be no need to concern ourselves with the dogs sniffing, snooping, peeing and pooping anywhere but in their own yards.

I own too, and that is what makes me so dog-sensitive. I also care for my neighbors, who actually came into my home for life-saving measures. Several of them own dogs and because of what they did for me, I would let their dogs pooh on my lawn till kingdom come. But, oddly enough, not one of my neighbor’s dogs ever comes onto my property without invitation. And the dogs of these dear people behave similarly to them. When they come to visit the dogs act as therapy dogs although they are all just trained as family pets.

IT NEVER ENDS! You know this! It just takes a vacation from time to time. As long as dog owners abuse their neighbors by using their yards as dog toilets, it won't end.

Default Poop Picking Class

The Rohan rec. center will be featuring poop picking classes for all dog owners. Owners are asked to bring their own baggies to the class. The color blue is recommended so that all persons carrying a blue bag will be seen as responsible poop pickers. The yellow and beige bags are just a fake out.
Our speaker, Mr. Brown, will demonstrate the various techniques of bending over correctly to perform the 1 scoop, 2 scoop, and 3 scoop method of picking up poop. These methods will
accommodate owners with no physical problems, knee and hip problems, and back problems.
He will also demonstrate the mpp tool, this is the magic poop picker that works like a scooper on the end of a cane that can be finger operated. Its great but requires practice.
Please don't bring your dogs as Mr. Brown will have 3 dogs for the breakout classes to practice the various methods. We know demand will be very heavy, so classes will be Mon thru Friday
from 2pm to 4 pm. After completing the class and passing poop picking 101, students will be given diploma's and medallions for their dog collars noting they have graduated. In this way they can proudly display their skills to others. Dog owners without these medallions may be single out by residents as someone to keep a closer eye on. Happy Picking, Up,Up, and away!

"Some dog owners " does not specify "most, many, some or few" in my book. In my yard and neighborhood I notice more that do tresspas than those that don't. Just saying...

I recently noticed a Dog Owner walking his Dog on a neighborhood corner property. The owner appeared to be not paying any attention to the dog. After the dog pooped the dog owner walked away without picking up the poop. I backed up the car and informed the owner as he was walking away that he did not pick up the dogs poop!! He stated I always pick up the dogs poop!! I stated well you didnt pick it up this time. Pick up your dogs poop. He told me to go XXXX myself. Another day I was driving into my neighbor hood and I noticed the same owner again not picking up after his dog!!

THE VILLAGES is a beautiful place to live!! Our neighbors spend a great deal of money on maintaining their property to keep it looking nice.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG THEN WALK THE DOG ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY NOT SOMEONE ELSE'S!!!!!!!!

Why not take a picture and post it on a NDN network or here in the TOV?

Some of these visits my yard from time to time. Who should we call for poop pickup? My grade-school-age grandson gave me the list of which ones may have pooped in my yard, but he had no idea about poop removal. Need to hurry so all the aminal poop doesn't destroy the lawn.

Cows too if your home is near a pasture and the fence is broken.

Attach a leash to any of them and they become your responsibility. Easy peasy. Keep your animals off my lawn.
