I do not need any help, and will continue t bring my dog to public spaces where he is allowed. I was at Sumter yesterday with my husband and the dog. There were many well behaved dogs walking around with their owners. Many people asked if they could pet him. The highlight for Ziggy was Haagen -Daz s Cookies and Cream Ice Cream.

You shouldn’t get on the subject, I didn’t have a pet when we lived there but if you think your comment will banned pet owners from bringing their pet there good luck!

When my dog is in public spaces, I use a four-foot leash!

How about banning non-residents?

Children under 25?

How about banning people over 80 or those with wheelchairs, walkers & mobility issues?

I'd be all in favor of banning line dancing and women of stout proportions, wearing spandex, lycra or yoga pants.

Why not just ban having more than 750 people in the squares at any one time and see if we can put everyone out of business.
This is about the most stupid reply I've yet to see! The "slippery" slope doesn't even make sense! How does stepping in "fluffy's" poop equate to stepping around grandma's cooler? The first is TOTALLY unacceptible and gross..the latter isn't even an inconvenience. We are dog people and we don't want dogs there...or the market...or Lowe's. Unless they are true "Service" animals (not companions) LEAVE THEM HOME! That panting you see? It's STRESS, not happiness...they don't want to be there! There's not really a dog problem, there's a human problem.

I preferred the cap toe shoes with a double break leg length. For the first time in awhile I went to buy a couple of suits and am quite shocked by what I found (I guess I lead a sheltered life?). The suits today, same designers, now have pants that end at the ankle and are a bit tight and stretchy. I am in my late fifties. No one wants to see me in tight stretch "performance" suits. Does anyone have a location near TV where they sell decent suits for someone my age?

Dogs cannot sweat. Panting is how they cool their body.

Default dogs gone wild

there is a time and place for everything. Dogs do not belong in the squares and for that matter in your shopping cart at Walmart. BTW I love dogs

maybe we could all just learn to get along & not freak-out over any little thing that strikes our fancy? maybe if we didn't like it, we wouldn't have to look @ it? maybe if we didn't like that band or that dog we could all stay home in a tiny little plastic world where everything looks just so & is non-contrary to what the person believes? awful post, terrible thread from a newb

That's your opinion that they do not belong at the squares, and I disagree. The squares are open to the public and there are not pet restrictions. I will continue to bring my dog to the squares.

The things you sarcastically mentioned are a normal part of being in a crowded social gathering. watching a dog Sh*t, smelling dog Sh*t, watching people handle dog Sh*t, and the potential to step in dog Sh*t are not. You used a fallacious Apples/Oranges non-argument to shame OP- who had a perfectly valid point about not wanting to interact with dog Sh*t while out enjoying an open-air gathering of people.

We were at Sawgrass last weekend and some polite dog owners actually had their dogs sitting on the new cushion couches. After all, who doesn’t like some unwanted dog hair and feces from a dog’s butt to sit down and relax in? Simple rule: your dog, your home. People aren’t anti animal, they are anti rude people who don’t know when and where it’s proper to bring an animal.
I haven't been to Sawgrass yet, but it sounds like the open-air atmosphere there is allowing hallucinogens to permeate the entertainment area.

Look it up. Statistically speaking, dog ownership in The Villages is likely between 45% - 55%.
