Default Don't lose your FOB

We recently returned to TV from a great week in the Smoky Mountains. The colors were in full bloom and the weather was awesome. However we lost our FOB that is used to start our 2011 Chrysler Town and Country Van. It also controls our electric doors and our hatchback and can remote start our van. When I called Chysler in Leesburg they told me to get a new FOB and to program it will cost $250.00 I almost started laughing as I thought it was a joke. Anyone know of another solution that is within reason. HOLY COW that is a lot for a FOB.

Solutionless in Charlotte

Go to eBay and search for "2011 Chrysler Town and Country Van key fob." Multiple listings for less than $20 each and also help/directions for programming.

If you find a way around this that's cheaper please perform a major public service and share the info. I have owned 3 of the current model's of Mini Cooper's. What an excellent car for shooting around town and being a blast to drive until the key FOB was lost....the second one. I thought I was gonna have a stroke...they had me trapped...I had no damned choice...it was a little north of $250.00...so I paid it...and they lost a sale because I know that's taking advantage of people. We took delivery to our door of a small Ford Van...I didn't ask for delivery of our new Van they offered because they want to stand out in the auto industry in our area. WOW. Truth be told I'm sorta ashamed of buying the Mini in the first place because of it not being made in AMERICA. No more foreign cars for me we'll walk first. My son said you may luck out in a junkyard if the key can be reprogrammed to your Van. Good Luck with this mission.

Ours stopped working and Hyundai wanted $250. So I went next door had a remote start installed for $125. And got two new key fobs, but it does not open back end, just unlocks

I believe he was talking about the flea market in Webster Florida which i about 15 to 20 miles south of The Villages on 301. I haven't been, but have heard it is huge. Pretty sure it is only open on Mondays.

I think you can go to a full service locksmith that also does car keys etc. and they can program them also.

Tremendously nice job. I knew the dealership was killing me on the price. I'm happy there is a great alternative.

so far both of our cars have "real" keys, and I am not looking forward to the new type when we get new cars.
