Hey, I'm fine with folks driving a little slow. I just get frustrated when I get behind these low speed drag races. All I'm saying is just move it over.

And I definitely know what you mean about 466. The sheriff was interviewed several weeks ago in the Daily Sun and stated that the biggest traffic problem in TV is excessive speed. I heartily DISagree. I rarely see much speeding. What I see as the worst issues are:
1) Red light runners including those folks that do the "rolling" right on red. (Why do they always roll through in front of me going the speed limit and they drive SLOW).
2) Stop sign runners.
3) Green light STOPPERS. You know, the one's who stop at a green light because they're afraid of #1.
4) Golf carts drivers and pedestrians that completely ignore all traffic laws/signs. I don't understand the pedestrian that just steps into the street without looking and assumes that they are seen by the car driver. I know, in Florida, pedestrians have the right of way, but they also have to follow traffic signals. And, as a pedestrian, you may have the right of way and feel that car should stop for you because you are in the right, but being right doesn't make you any less dead when that car rolls over you! Same with a golf cart. In the battle of SUV vs. ParCar, my bet is on the SUV.

I heard a guy say that TV should change their slogan for "Friendliest Hometown" to "Who has the right of way? I DO!"

Mel - good math.

I got some better math for you 40%. They have won 2 of the 5 since 2004!

The rest is just history.

Russ,

It doesn't matter who has won the most - it's when was the last time?

You are correct as always, the Red Sox are a Dynasty.

How did this ever get to this??? I wish i could be a dynasty by winning 2 out of a 100. That is a feat. If the Sox dont win another one for 100 more years will they still be a dynasty?

I think it is just courtesy to move over into the right lane if you observe someone going faster who wants to pass on the left. I'll also add one more item to your list of traffic issues: the people who don't know how to use the roundabouts. I notice this has been debated ad nauseum in previous posts, but it still is a problem.

Default Opposite end of the point of this thread!!

This post isn't about slow drivers. Quite the contrary!!

Beware, last night around 10pm, 2 pick up trucks were truly drag racing heading north going over the bridge at Lake Sumter. I was never so frightened as you know that is a little curvy and bumpy section of the bridge. One hiccup, and I would have been history. These guys were flying about 50+mph, (I'm not exactly sure of the speed and I don't want to exaggerate but it was damn fast). My passengers were astounded because we've never seen anything like this in TV. Where are the cops when you need them..

Question

Wow Kathie...on the bridge...that could have been a big mess!!!!!!

I have to comment on the pedestrians here in TV, especially in the shopping plaza's.
Yesterday I was going through the parking lot by the Publix, Belks etc in Plaza Grande. I stopped at the first stop sign, 3 people with carts crossed, I stopped at the second, no pedestrians in sight ,so I moved on. Out of the last door at Publix's comes a man and a woman, pushing a cart at warp speed. There is a column beside the door so you don't see anyone exiting until they come out from under the portico and from behind the column. They charged right out in the roadway in front of me, without looking. When he realized I was rolling he starting yelling at me to slow down. I stopped and couldn't resist opening my window to ask if he felt 5 mph's was speeding...and further suggested they looked before crossing. He shook his fist at me ...uttered a few f-words and continued crossing ,all the while yelling at me. His companion had her head down and wouldn't look at me..... she probably experiences a lot of that anger.

Anyway ...moral of the story watch out for pedestrians...even when you are obeying all the rules.

I think the original post has some real valid points. Well worth discussing.

Talking Getting back to the original subject!!!

I have to agree when the snowbirds leave the traffic fits back into a regular pattern.

I remember reading somewhere that slow drivers are as dangerous as, fast drivers

Please if you are driving slow, that's great, but move to the right lane and allow those who wish to dance with the speed limit do so.
