It was clear, some just crave any opportunity to pee on another mans camp fire. I should have used the word moderation instead of "a few". I am happy to say that those posters that constantly find fault in others is down to a small number from years past on TOTV. Admittedly, I was one of the worst, but because of the efforts of ADMIN and MONITORS, I try my best to see the glass as half full. I am amazed at how much better I feel when being upbeat rather than negative. I don't think anyone wishes to be a grouchy.

Well, if it makes me think I am smarter and younger, I am all for that. Where is the rum again? Does it help the memory, too?

Just to eliminate some of the negativity here, I'm going to drink water, eat lettuce (organic of course ), and drive a wood fueled golf cart.

Just need to respond to those who feel that I "need a soapbox", etc.

I, however, have seen death caused by "just one little drink".....and I refer you to all the posts that mention how it makes them feel differently. That should point out why some of us "soap box" types have concerns about drinking.

Can nobody have fun drinking a soda ?

No more "soap box", but recognize you ARE IN FACT diminishing your thought process with one drink...ONE. I choose not to do that, and I choose to offer to young people at every chance to learn how to enjoy yourself with no artificial assistance, and to be careful with those who need to do that.

I do not criticize those who drink....I, as was the intent of my post and others, find fault with a joke being made of the direct cause of a death of someone close to me...not speaking of DRUNK driving..one drink, as all of you are admitting, will affect your brain. Do we really need help to enjoy ourselves ?

Sorry for "soap boxing" and will get out of your way

As I said in my post...I do not criticize or judge ANYONE who drinks.

Yet, as a non drinker, I AM judged, and poked fun at.

AND for informational purposes I have no need for a soapbox at all, certainly less than those of you who appear to be the judges and juries for all others.

At least I, in professing my non drinking have given some of you someone to deride. Have a drink and come up with those silly little jabs

Villagers can enjoy each other's company and have fun with an iced tea as well as an ice-cold Yeungling. I prefer the beer but have close Villager friends who I enjoy being with for dinner, cards, trivia, or whatever who do not imbibe and have the iced tea.

Why judge others for either not drinking or social drinking (not to excess, of course)?

too many of the posts that belittle ones preferences have an oh so familiar ring to the one sided bantering that got the political forum shut down.......I used to have to set the record straight like bucco's post above to clarify arbitrary categorization.
