All I have to say went to Fenney thought it was quite nice. Some new and different ideas. Love the new pool. Would I go there everyday nope. But then I don't go to Spanish Springs or cross the bridge to the Historic side everyday. Not that there's anything wrong with any of those areas just don't do it. As for Fenney being far when TV start building in Key West it'll seem close.

People said the same thing about SL and Brownwood... give it time. Soon TV will connect with Tampa.

As long as TV keeps building, changing the landscaping to such beauty, I am thankful so much time and planning it put into each village. Each time we have out of town guests they are in amazement of how great this place is. Since most of us are used to driving 15 or 20 miles is no big deal.

Jimmy Buffets new place is just starting to build. The fees for the pool (yes one zero entry pool) and the beach property might be close to $300 per month. So far no lifestyle package, but already asking if you want to put money down on a house this summer.

So the way I look at it is TV except for the ocean already has a leg up on any other place to retire, and now we have a zero entry pool too

Hello all, I am here on a lifestyle tour and visited Fenny. I can see the vision of what will be accomplished. The drive does not bother me. The issue for me is, I am still working and the road construction will affect commute times. With that said, I saw equity dollars while I was there. It is on my list, but the area I like so far is Spanish Springs. I will visit again today. My plan is to rent first and then decide which neighborhood I want to buy into. I hope to meet you all when I return as a resident.

My suggestion to u is great idea rent first. Look at recreation news. See what clubs u might be interested in joining then drive to and from area u are considering. Maybe that will help. Also remember now is slow season and winter much more traffic

Enjoy your stay, everyone here has a village they love. I did find SS area to have an older established population, while south of 466a a younger crowd. Hopefully there will be a few houses to rent in the Fenney area so those who are on the fence can get a better idea of the concept. Road construction should not take long, depending on where you are working, there is always another way to get there. We rented 3 times, have moved three times so no worries, everything will fall into place.

I like the idea of a calm Village with more emphasis on walking trails.

Of course many will like quieter area as they may not be as active. We are mid 60s and still in all the larger clubs which normally meet at Lahacienda. There are pros and cons to everything in life and I prefer to be Honest with all potential villagers. Why not drive out there alone tonight After dark and see if your comfortable,? If yes, go for it!

I imagine that as with most new Villages most of the initial buyers will be on the younger side. Some of the amenities of Fenney such as the fitness trails appear to be designed with them in mind. Younger folks rarely mind driving at night as they still have good night vision if they have been eating their carrots. Many new Villagers come from large, congested urban areas and are accustomed to long commuting times. Little jaunts to BW and elsewhere will be like a ride in the park to them.

Don't about younger moving out there. I can see the older as the younger probably want to play softball, join baby boomers etc. Those perhaps who stay home and don't like all the activities perhaps. We have several friends moving down and again the guys want to play ball so are looking near Sumter. All are mid 60s and very active. They said they don't want to spend 1\2 a day just getting to the activities. As far as the drive like I said drive out After dark and get the feel for it. Some people are not concerned with safety. I personally am always aware of my surroundings as not to be naive

I love Fenney's bucolic feel, the walkways through the old live oaks. Also one can get relatively large (for The Villages) 4 br. 3 ba. homes there with great views, many over water. What's not to like?

Just wondering...................
14 posts on this thread
5 posts point out how dark the area is
12 of the 14 posts had something negative about the area
That is not being honest that is repetitive bashing.
BTW I have lived here 15 years.
