Default Eager to hear your experience with Acrylic paint lanai flooring

We have a new home in The Villages. We're interested in floor covering for the lanai. So far the leading candidate is Acrylic Paint sometimes referred by brand name CoolDeck (?).

I would like to hear anyone's experience with acrylic painting lanai flooring.

Is it durable or does it show signs of wear in high-traffic areas and under chair feet?

Does it require any regular maintenance? re-coating?

Does it feel slick? (the one example we've seen has a texture like TV houses have on the ceiling)

Many thanks.

Had it three years now and many have copied it from us. Less expensive than other ways and looks great.

Have never heard it referred to as Acrylic Paint, but we had Cool Deck on our lanai for our entire 15 years in Tampa and loved it. Had no special maintenance issues.

OP, I am not sure of the coating system you are talking about, as I thought "cool deck" was much more then just paint as it is highly textured finish, at least ours was.
I an case, be very careful that the final finish has a product called SHARK GRIP mixed with the final coating. This will give you a non slip surface. There have been many cases reported on this site where garages, driveways, lanais and birdcages were 'painted' and the owner ended up with a skating rink where these surfaces were wet.
Hope this helps.

We had it done before we moved in and after 3 years it shows very little wear. The only wear is where we drag chairs from the table. Otherwise it still looks great.
