El Santiago Club
Anyone know if El Santiago Club is under new management? We've had the breakfast buffets with no complaints. But, the other night we went for dinner and ordered the 2 for $22 Delmonico steaks. Talk about a couple of wafer-thin cuts, marbled with a lot of fat. They were similar to steaks you would get at Bob Evans when you order steak and eggs!

Re: El Santiago Club
Don't know about new management, but we were there about 3 months ago and we had their Grouper fingers which "used" to be generous portions of fish. What we got was the same number of pieces but about 1/2 the size they once served. Also, they were overdone. Probably, they were still deep frying them for the same amount of time as the larger portions. We have neighbors who still frequent the place because it's near home and a convenient stop after golf, but each time they stop they wish they hadn't. The food has been mediocre and the wait between ordering and receiving their food has been intolerable. Sure was a great restaurant. Their bleu cheese soup served on Tuesdays was to die for. One would think that quality and service would be at the forefront, given the ever-increasing competition.

Re: El Santiago Club
Oh Boy. This sounds like Chula Vista all over again. For those not up to speed on that routine the"family"jacks up the rent, the operator cuts back trying to keep his head above water, the business drops off,the place closes.I'l Familia takes over, turns it into a Rec center and charges us through our monthly fees God knows how many times more than its worth.Oh well we signed on the dotted line and we all know they really need the money.

Re: El Santiago Club
The food is to die for....You eat it you die. The should really consider hiring a cook.
A recreation center in the area sounds great. We're the only area in the villages without one.
