Before electric cars become the car of the future, they have to build up the infrastructure. You can’t drive up I-95 to Mass. from Florida having to get off the highway, then drive 10 miles out of your way to find a charging station and then have to hang around waiting for it to charge.
I love my car. It’s fun to drive and I’m at the age where I don’t drive far. With rebates it cost a little over $40k. It was an easy choice for me when buying a new car.

I believe rebates are only for union built cars.
Don't different cars take different charging stations?
I wonder how the resale will be in a few years?
