Default Two New Executive Courses Update

Two New Executive Courses for You to Enjoy

Two New Executive Courses for You to Enjoy

Golf lovers, get ready for a couple of exciting additions to The Villages golf scene! While the highly anticipated Woodlands Championship Course is under construction and set to bring a new level of excitement to the Eastport area, we’re also thrilled to get an update on two beautiful 9-hole Executive Courses—Beautyberry and Honeysuckle—coming your way!

Golf for Everyone

Currently under construction, these two new courses will add something truly special to the golf offerings here in The Villages. Both Beautyberry and Honeysuckle are par 29 courses that bring their own unique feel to the game, perfect for golfers of all levels to enjoy. These courses will provide a fantastic complement to the Woodlands Championship Course, as we plan to open them around the same time.

Keep Your Clubs Ready

While we’re all excited for the upcoming Beautyberry and Honeysuckle courses, there are many courses to keep you busy and in the swing of golf while you wait! Head over to the nearby Shallow Creek Championship Course for a challenging round, take the grandkids to the Jubilee Putting Course for some family fun, or try something new at Mickylee Pitch & Putt. With so many courses nearby, there’s always something fresh to explore, and it’s a great way to keep your game sharp while anticipating the new courses ahead. We’ll see you on the green!

In my opinion Laural Oak leaves a lot to be desired. Others and I would sure like to see a little more "Creativity" going forward. I know it costs more but why hurt the "Villages Golf Brand"?

Laurel Oak is awesome. I love the 420 yard gold tee on 5. Just don’t care for the shared green on 3 and 8.

The designer is always at the mercy of the chunk of land the developer gives them. All designs are for the purpose of draining excess rain water into the retention ponds. That's why there are nearly 800 holes of similar, boring-looking golf in The Villages.

Just curious. In your opinion what would make our courses "less boring"? Tree lined fairways? ---not going to happen. Mountainous terrain? This is Florida and all courses have the following in common: Their only defense is sand and water (with the possible exception of Copperhead). Also remember, these are not supposed to be PGA tour courses--the average golfer in TV is probably 70 years old and has a handicap over 20. If the courses are too difficult, you'll be looking at 5-hour rounds. The difficulty of a course is not just length---7 of Pebble Beach, 8 of Royal Troon, etc., so just playing back a tee does not necessarily add that much difficulty.

I've not seen any mention of Bellaire - it appears to be ready to go (though the Starter Shack may not be)?

What’s old is new again. There’s a course way up North with at least one shared green.

And a whole bunch of them at St. Andrew’s, so what’s very very old is new

Opening is on hold, starter shack is right in the middle of the construction zone for the Eastport hotel. It's a safety issue.
