In theory it's a great idea! That said will it be open for everyone? Swimmers, water-walkers, volleyball?? I used to go to one of the sport's pools for the "open swim" time and it kept getting trimmed so that water-walkers didn't have much of a chance due to the swimmers. I think there's probably a need for more than one of these for actual exercising...all kinds! Then there's the thoughts of a therapy pool too...warm enough for folks with arthritis etc.

Here is a thought. When its built will there be a line, everday, to get in? Will a lottery have to be established to determine the users. There will be many complainers here on TOTV. How soon will there be a push for a covered pool south of 466? South of 466A..........this will be never ending.
BTW didn't those that are such strong advocates of these covered pools realize that moving to Florida; it is hot and the sun actually shines?
Why not covered pickle ball courts? Enclosed bocce & shuffleboard courts?
Does that sound less stupid?

Lights at the softball fields would be nice.

If you're talking about an indoor heated pool, I don't think it's going to happen unless it's a for-profit franchise kind of thing. The cost would be enormous. The upkeep would be onerous. The bookkeeping - I can't imagine. Monthly memberships? How much? You buy a membership and you still have to wait in line?
I could see partially shading some of the pools against the midday sun, but some folks would complain about that
I wish all the pools were open and lighted in the evenings in the summer!

I think I see a lot of problems during the summer and winter, as the other pools will be to hot or too cold. So what I would expect is long waiting lines, flaring tempers, etc. The PARTIAL shading sounds like a good low cost option that could be gradually added to many pools. I agree with a lot of the previous posters concerns, while the idea looks good on paper, ONE enclosed pool in a village of over 100,000 is not going to work.
Just my humble opinion, please do not shoot the messenger.

I will never understand why the temporary domes have never been used here on the sports pools in the winter. Some rec centers here in NJ use them for turning outdoor basketball and tennis courts to indoor courts every winter.

Default Pool

Find the room somewhere to build an enclosed pool, charge those interested for its use. Please leave the only pool that serves three villages alone.

Seeing this pool would be enclosed it would provide the privacy required by the practicing nudest in the Villages. It could be reserved by the Village Nudest Club one day a week.
