Did the same thing with a fan/light on our entry--remove the light bulbs from our garage light fixtures, got a street light near by , don't need them

I take issue with your statement. We have built ten new homes in our lifetime. A couple were custom. For the money spent here, you get decent stuff and great follow up.

Plus according to your posts you are new here in April 2017.
