Default Extra Hands Lawn Care

Yesterday I witnessed something that was just horrifying. My neighbors had already terminated their contract with Extra Hands because they wouldn't cut the lawn after three weeks of it needing cutting. They showed up anyway at a time when only the wife was home. She came out and explained that they had been fired and told them to leave. This huge man started yelling at her, flailing his arms in an intimidating manner, even throwing a rock at his own trailer to make some kind of point. He told her she was stupid and made her cry! And the helper continued to edge anyway the whole time he was yelling at her! It was so bad that three male neighbors, including my husband, felt that they had to rush over there to protect her. It was the most unprofessional scene I had ever witnessed and I would never use them for anything. In fact, I used them once last year for new pine straw, they billed me for 15 bales and only put down 10. They clearly were trying to use intimidation to keep a customer that was already not satisfied with their services. Not a good plan!

I was one of the men who heard the commotion and went over to see what was going on. The contractor was so extremely rude and way out of line with his loud voice and continued harassment. I was once a customer of theirs. I would never do business with a company that treats a customer the way this was handled. I got the impression from his bragging on 300 other customers that he felt like he didn't need this one. Because of the volume of business here these contractors don't seem to think they have to please all the customers. I urge you to stay away from Extra Hands and send a loud and clear message all customers should be treated with respect.

Thanks for sharing your experience. No one should have to witness this unprofessional behavior. Peace out...

We've used Extra Hands for the past 7 months, and couldn't be happier with their service, not to mention the professionalism of the owner and crew. In fact during Extra Hands visit last week, two members of the crew offered to help me hang Christmas lights, which I was in the process of doing when they arrived. I use EH's for mowing and had them trim all of the bushes on one occasion at what was a very affordable rate. They did a fantastic job.

We do as well and are satisfied. I sent an email to the owner with a link to this post to see what he says. It's been 24 hours and still no reply.

Don't you just love the way these contractors disrespect people on a regular basis in various ways? I'm thinking in an entrepreneurial spirit of starting a Nucky Senior Against Crime Division! No one's blood pressure would need to rise. A similar thing happened to me, the old landscaper mowed the lawn a few hours after the new guy had completed the job. It was so obvious. I let him do it, why go for a showdown? These small business men and women work hard and have stories about how they get beat also but thats part of the American Dream of owning your own business,
