The Golf courses are not managed by the recreation department. Therefore the mask rule does not apply. Take the CDD course to learn how TV is run and managed.

You can get it doing anything and anywhere. So don't pick on golf. Your chance of getting it in a grocery store are 10 time greater. Only an n95 mask will keep you are anyone else completely safe. Get off your hing horse and enjoy what yoou can and be joyfull for what others have.

Golfers have a special immunity. That’s why after they ride to the tee in separate carts they can then get out and huddle almost shoulder to shoulder and talk, and with no masks. We live on a course and we see it all the time, not everyone does it but a lot do. But we have not seen any of them wearing masks.

You're right, Rec centers there's not much air moving & you really can't help being so close to people. On golf courses, lots of air moving & they say the sun helps kill the virus, plus you're not standing right nexted to anyone unless you choose to or you choose to touch other people . So a mask might not be worth wearing on golf course. Just be careful, we all know this is just a Phase 1. I think TV shouldn't be charging an HOA fee because a lot of people don't play golf. Yes, I know you can't just charge golfers a HOA fee & not anyone else. But you would think TV would discounted it for a while.

Common sense VS one size fits all rules.

There is a difference when indoors or outside.

Mask wearing has been stated to be a "good thing" to do.....not ordered.....not mandated.

Most guidelines state that where social distancing cannot be maintained then one "should" wear a mask.

Common sense required for masking (or not) and needed as well for those who would be self appointed mask police and judges.

I do not believe that was how the article was stated. It was referring to in and out of the recreation areas and all activities in the rec areas. It was referring to them since they will be opening next week.

My husband and I ordered face masks on-line a month and a half ago. When I check the tracking it continues to say “Pending.” We have waited long enough. Do you or anyone you know in The Villages make quality face masks? We will pay for them and cover the cost of mailing as well. Thank you so much!

Default Face masks for golfers

The guidelines that are being set up for opening rec centers and pools, dog parks, etc (all those that had previously been closed would not include those activities, businesses, etc that have not been closed down. Not sure how masks are going to be used in pools to begin with as not water proof and just not logical. Rec centers are only being opened up for those who want to get together and play cards/mahjonng/etc who bring their own equipment. No equipment nor organized clubs will be in effect at this time i.e. no Euchre club, bingo, bridge, etc will be active...just if you want to get your foursome together to play at a rec center and bring your own equipment. Golf takes a minimum of 1 1/2 hours to play to a maximum of 4 hours to play outside in the heat and at more then a 6 ft distance from each other. No masks are necessary unless you choose. For me I would think one would feel sick, dizzy, etc if having to have to wear a mask outside in the heat at all times during this. Your oxygen levels are definitely affected. Whatever you choose to do, please be safe and keep the tempers in check as those who are in charge to keep the pools, rec centers and dog parks open to keep you at 6 ft and following the guidelines set forth are only doing their jobs so that they CAN ALL STAY OPEN. Stay healthy.

Default Adherence and enforcement

Golf has stayed opened throughout without mandatory wearing of masks. If a new sign appears at the sign in desk that says masks are now mandatory to play, I’m guessing golfers will adhere or be subject to an Ambassador ejecting them from the course. If the pool tells me I must wear a mask, there are plenty of companies now making them out of swimsuit material, I’ll do that too and instead of swimming laps, I’ll use a kickboard. Adjust, adapt and overcome. I have no problem adhering to rules if it allows me to get out in the fresh air and use facilities that I don’t own. It’s a privilege, not an entitlement.

In today’s environment, I personally am taking precautions to protect others. I wear both a face mask and gloves, social distance and shop only when necessary. I try to minimize risk to myself and others. It’s the same reason I buckle my seatbelt even in the backseat as a passenger. It’s not just for my safety but for everyone else in the car. During this time, we are all on this car ride and we are all precious cargo. It’s up to everyone to act responsibly in the interests of society as a whole. Adhere to the rules. Cooperate and graduate.

The pics of the tables in the Rec Centers said the rooms will be PRE SET UP and u can’t change the seating or the oblong tables, with ONE person sitting in the middle. Just me but that doesn’t look conducive to playing cards. How does one go about bringing their own cards when you DON’T play cards by ur self? I don’t think cards are in the cards quite yet. Just my thinking is all.

Default Seems there IS contact tracing in Fla. after all......

In addition the state of Florida does not have the infrastructure to do what is necessary and that would be when a positive case has been determined, they should do contact tracing. Contact tracing is not done I repeat is not done. So I would strongly suggest that the golfers stop with this holier than thou attitude and be aware that you can get it playing golf. I hope you don't get it but you do increase the possibility of getting it by not wearing a mask. In addition a mask prevents you, if you are asymptomatic, from giving it to someone else.
Article at this link seems to run counter to your info....maybe yours is just a bit older and out of date??

guys we are all on a learning curve and it's fun reading how creative your ideas all are, but in reality-it's to keep us safe. period. We are not invincible and CAN get sick if people are careless. Think-the more we do things right, the quicker this mess is over.
