Default Facilities Closed / Open

I get a daily e-mail telling me which facilities are closed (for repair/cleaning/etc.) but never one telling me that they are open again.

For example, Laurel Manor pool closed on Friday for pump repair, with no indication of how long that might take.

Is there a source (other than telephoning every day) which lists what is open?

Thank you

The districtgov.org What's Happening page has a list. If you click on a particular facility it includes the expected opening date. Not the best format but maybe it will help.

Also, the most recent Weekly Bulletin contains a list of closed facilities that includes the range of dates they should be closed. This format might be a little better.

Not sure what order it is in - alphabetic might have made sense - so I searched for "Laurel Manor" and it came up with "Lake Sumter Lines Boats".

Maybe that means everything at Laurel Manor is open, but I'll call them in case.

Hopefully you will learn the pool closing was an urgent repair and was completed that day and that's why they didn't have time to create an announcement about it.

They are no longer putting closures in the weekly bulletin.

Closures were in the bulletin issued three days ago. Was this announced on Friday?

Those emails are great to notify you of scheduled maintenance closures. When equipment unexpectedly fails, it’s a crap shoot when an unscheduled repair will be completed.

Yes, that's the problem.

THEY know when it has reopened, but currently they don't let US know.

Our session at Laurel Manor pool was cut short this morning as the pump (that broke last week) has failed again.

Rather than being told once it has been fixed, everyone has to keep calling them until we are told it is fixed.

They are halfway there by e-mailing us it is closed; why can they not complete the circle by e-mailing us when it has been reopened?

They could even have an on-line site that shows "in real time" what facilities are closed. They obviously have this information, so updating a website when something changes is hardly rocket science.

Why don’t you call “they” and ask?

Should I need to call and ask about every court, pool, or room at every rec center before I head out?

Sometimes stuff happens and emergency repairs are needed and bandaids fail. Ideally, this is the exception rather than the rule but I have no idea whether it really is.

No, just this.

What I don't understand is why there is not a similar facility for letting us know when they have reopened

Obviously this is not needed for cleaning etc. where it will be finished the same day but, in the example I gave, the pool was shut because of a broken pump. No one can know how long it will take to fix it. So please just tell us once it has been fixed.

Add it to the e-mail that lists closings, if that is easier, but don't make every user have to call in on a daily basis to see if it has been fixed yet.

My understanding is if it shows just one day, it will be done that day. If it is multiple days, they show that on the announcement.
