Police dont “stake out” houses for a traffic violation. Dont watch so much tv. The cops wont and cant do anything unless they happen to witness him committing a violation.

Absolutely not! If police dont witness it, nothing can be done. Go ahead and video, file a complaint if you can manage to get an appt with the SA within the next 20 years for a traffic violation. Then he will hand it back to you, show you the door and shut it behibd you on your way out.

Does he make that "visit" on his own time???? Somehow I doubt he could do that in an official capacity. And if so, I would be happy to have him get off my property. BTW, are your cameras going to capture your fellow cyclists blowing through stop and yield signs, often as a pack? The very nature of cycling on the roads in TV is somewhat unsafe (as is driving any vehicle).

I have no problem with cyclists and no problem sharing the road, but the key to sharing anything is for all parties to follow the rules. Now if you are a cyclist, don't get your undies in a bunch over this statement, but it seems cyclists, at least those that frequently post on TOTV, are very adept a citing laws that apply to drivers of other vehicles with regard to cyclists, but pick and choose which laws they will follow on the road

The dangerous bicyclist claims they have a law enforcement officer working for them that will come to your house immediately. But, only if you are in their bike club.

That sounds like a bad career move for the LEO

Default Needed Traffic Enforcement

I realized this was the same car that got over 100 comments in a thread on Nextdoor. This guy is street racing with himself, it's only a matter of time until he's in a terrible wreck and one of us will be hurt or killed. I tried to get his plate number but he was going too fast. I don't even know if I gave the Sumter sheriff the plate number if they could do anything since they didn't catch him in the act. Be careful out there.
As a former state trooper, I can tell that we encouraged the community to report traffic offenders - you are correct, it's only a matter of time until this guy takes out another driver or himself around a pole or tree. Contact the Sumter S.O. or the Florida SP and provide them with a description of the car, the license plate number, the time of day the driver commits the traffic violations, and the area he travels. More than likely it's local talent or someone that works in the area and travels the same routes. You are correct, the police can't take enforcement action on misdemeanor traffic offenses unless they witness it themselves.

Question: Can the police issue a BOLO for this bozo based on the complaints????

So you are saying that a video of the offender is not sufficient for the police to act?

The officer in your club has no legal precedent or merit to visit anyone’s residence based on your video. In fact he can be disciplined for using department resources in an inappropriate manner. To further the actions if enough people complain he can be reprimanded for harassment. There are as many aggressive cyclists here as drivers. Everyone feels they own the road. The cycle club acts as though everyone on the road should give way to their membership, when in fact some in their ranks are much more aggressive that the drivers.

Back mid April, I heard a very loud _built_ engine revving at some point in the early AM coming from Avenida Central.

Next day I found out two guys were killed on Avenida Central. Wrapped their Audi around a tree near Del Mar, very close to the Square.

It has always bugged me that I heard that vehicle.

I used to build engines and race 1/4 mile drag. I know what a built engine sounds like. This is not a sound you can generate with an Audi.

Makes me wonder now if this knob in the Dodge was street racing that Audi.
