Finding someone that does not want to sell you investments might be hard. You are looking for a fee only planner. I would look for a CPA that has the PFP accreditation. Take a look at PFP
From your questions it sounds like a hour or two discussion could go a long way at solving your problem.

I certainly agree with that !

Back when I was working, and building my IRA, I read Money Magazine faithfully (but take your pick here.) I was asked by a financial adviser at my local bank if I would come in for a "review." I proceeded to go over how I was handling my self-directed IRA and 401-K. After the session, the adviser was shaking his head, and said, "Man, you're good ! You sure don't need me."

At least, it made me feel good.
