We are proud new owners of a CYV in Hadley....Yeah!!! Not down full time yet...trying to sell our NJ home. I'd love to have a fire pit in the backyard but am wondering if they are allowed....anyone have an answer??

?
------------------------------------ pklein, I don't know that you'll be able to get approval for a fire pit.....but I might be wrong. Currently, Sumter County has a burn ban in place: http://sumtercountyfl.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=139 See "Commissioners Approve County Burn Ban". As dry as things get in FL sometimes, I don't know that I'd personally want to run the potential risk of starting a grass fire with escaping sparks or embers from a fire pit. Bill |

Thanks, Bill. That makes a lot of sense.

I have seen homes that have very nice Propane fire pits on their lanais. The pit was in the center, of a very nicely done, heaxognal table where you can place drinks on the edges and have chairs sitting around the fire. Propane tank was underneat the table and it had an automatic ignitor button just like a gas grill. There are no embers or clean outs to deal with. What I saw was very nice and practical if this what you want.

You could also get a table top fire bit (http://www.firepitsatoz.com/table-to...FYHc4AodrjwfIQ). They use a fuel that will snap and pop without embers.
