To answer the question regarding the safe, they pried it open, probably with a crowbar. Yes, it was that easy. Yes, First Alert, the company that made the safe, will be hearing from me.

So sorry that this has happened to you...
I have been in Sable Chase almost 1 year and am surprised to see so many unmarked trucks roaming around the neighborhood... some have lawn equipment in the back of them, but there is one thing that is interesting....
There is no sign or lettering on the sides of the trucks!...
hummmm.
I'm also disappointed with The Village sales person telling me, "you really don't need a security system here!!!
Karron
Again... Thank You for sharing your experience with us!

The last crook that stole golf clubs was actually caught trying to pawn the clubs. If I recall in was in Brookville, about an hour south of here. I think sheriff has the pawn shops covered.

We employ wireless cameras and a 44 magnum.
Indy is right in that most all of the modern security systems are wireless, and thus almost impossible for a burglar to bypass or disable. Frontpoint also has "crash protection" meaning if someone breaks in and immediately takes a bat to the control panel, it automatically sets off and dispatches law enforcement.

Maybe it is time to enable the gated entry on the west end of Pineallas so at least it looks like secure place!

I have followed Lynnelf's posting from her looking forward to living here and now she is at this moment, fearful.

That makes me so angry. Someone took her wedding rings and pried open her safe.

I wish and hope and just.......want the police to catch this person or these persons.

Those of you who live closeby there, there has to be a link. Be VERY careful and get security systems.

I hope the police will do some extra protecting. How long between the other break in and this one?

I am so sorry Lynnelf, that some low life creep who is too lazy to work and get things for himself stole from you.

When a team of thieves were stealing in our area a neighbor found her stuff being advertised on craigs list and more for sale at a swap meet. The neighbors each took photos and split up all the pawn shops etc so they could all be covered quick and offered a reward, She got about half her stuff back. I hope you get your wedding rings back at least.

Default So so sorry Lynnelf

Please know that your TOTV friends regret that your lives have been compromised and hopefully it will all be recovered..

On a side note: When I took our trash to the end of the driveway, the
burglar left the trash but took the container...Is there a hidden message
here for me???????
