Default Flying Insects

What do you do about the occassional fly, mosquito, gnat or other whatnot flying about the house?
Been to all the local stores and can't find a flying insect spray
Lots of stuff for ants & roaches but nothing for things that fly, what's up?

You might want to check with store personnel. All of the major brands (Raid, Black Flag, store brands etc.) make a Flying Insect Killer. Also a House & Garden spray will work good too. Good luck...

Default An electric fly swatter...I am not kidding.

I bought two of these....
They look more like a small tennis racket. However, they hold a couple of AA batteries in the handle. You press a button and the batteries give a small electrical charge to the racket strings. This thing kills Bumble Bees , Wasp or anything else that flys.... about $12 bucks on sale at Kohl's. You'll never use spray again.

Campbell Soup,

What a novel idea!! Thankyou. I guess you have to be a pretty good aim for this to work. LOL I always swat and miss the little suckers.

I think those little buggers are fruit flys. They look like gnats and now is NOT the time to keep things in your fruit bowl. This is the season for them. Look on your glass panes. I didn't know what to do either so we sprayed them before we left. We only discovered them minutes before we were to leave.

Yes, we just had a major invasion of fruit flies. Went on the internet and found several suggestions. We set a trap--a jar with a piece of overripe cantaloupe in it, covered tightly with Glad wrap with small holes punched in it. They can get in but can't get out. Any overripe fruit should work.

Between the trap and swatting them, we seem to be winning the war. I read that they have a life cycle of a week or more, so hope we won't have to deal with their offspring.

Thank you all.
Now I'll add an electric fly swatter to the list of things needed for the new house.
Still haven't been able to find flying insect spray in any of the stores down here, 'tis a mystery.
