Found a great review of them here:

Selling site: http://www.piaggiousa.com/pscooters/mp3.cfm

Downside: The nearest dealer is 41 miles away from TV.

I would think not since these are really motorcycles capable of major speed (this one is only 78 mph max but the next level up is over 100 mph).

How about a segway? I know that they are golf capable.

Oh, I want a golf cart too!

I just thought a scooter would be cool and when i saw this i thought - Hmmm, a scooter that is actually a motorcycle in disguise!

I figure 1 car, 1 golf cart, 2 scooters (1 for Linda_Boston).

Probably won't happen but what the heck - i can dream!

Russ:

I have been thinking about getting a scooter also.

Settling in on a 250 cc. Want to do some back road exploring so I would like a bit of power. Not interested in getting on the turnpike or interstate so don't need a maxi-scooter.

A conventional two wheel 250 cc Aprilia or Piaggio runs under $4K for slightly used, which is a long way from the $10K for the MP3.

Default Segway

I actually took a tour of Mt. Dora from the Segway dealer located in their downtown last Saturday. I had been on one once before in the Bahamas and liked them a lot. Other than their 12-13 mph top speed, it seems to me they'd be ideal for use on short trips around The Villages. They're pretty pricey at about $6,000, but if I ever find an extra six grand lying around, a Segway would be near the top of my (bucket?) list. They actually sell them at Sam's Club, but the must be price-controlled because they're the same price there as in Mt. Dora or anywhere else on the internet. The Segway dealer tells me he's sold several to people in TV, but I've yet to see one here.

A few weeks ago I saw a woman scooting around the Village of Alhambra on a Segway. Saw her a few times but not lately.

Whatever I get, I think I want to be sitting down. While those Segways are cool, I doubt I'd want to just stand on one while I was covering ground. I figure if I'm on my feet, it's healthier to walk.
But for sheer novelty/fun, I wouldn't mind trying one for a tour.

And staying on topic, that "scooter" is pretty cool as well. Put that on my Bucket list!

Steve...Disney World runs Segway tours at Epcot. Haven't taken it yet but if I make it to WDW again I'm certainly taking the tour. They do a little time on instruction than they tour around Epcot, before opening I think, with an entire group including the guide on Segways.

Well, I know absolutely, positively, without a doubt NOTHING about scooters except they are so much FUN to ride. Tootled around on them when in Key West.

Did have a hard time getting the accelerator and brake figured out...almost ran into an outside bar...literally! Patrons weren't too happy with me to say the least but some guy grabbed hold of my scooter and stopped it for me...cussing and swearing at me!

OMG...did I actually reveal this most embarrassing true story on this forum...YEP, I did!

There is a scooter club in TV that takesome very nice rides on Wednesdays. I was very interested in getting a 50cc scooter with flowers on it(small Honda) and joining the scooter club but now I think the minimum size is a 250cc. That leaves me out!! Dont think I could handle it and hubs says Ill kill myself.Guess Ill stick to the golf cart and Bike. Guess I was dreaming too! :

Russ...

Having owned bikes before I would question the three wheeled thing. I'm not sure how stable this scooter wold be in turns. You know how a bike has to lean into the turns?

I suppose they've figured this out but I'd want to check it out carefully.
