Default And then this happens....

On my way to work at about 7:30am from south of 44, I cross the CC bridge and about middle ways across, some dumbs#%t in his truck has pulled a burnout going northbound on the bridge and, to top that from evidence on the bridge, he popped off a round from a shotgun.

I called Community Watch and told them what had happened and had them transfer me to the SCSO. Gave the dispatcher the report and then a Deputy called me in about 5 minutes with some more questions; said she was going out to investigate it.

I really hope that this person is caught, even though it is a long shot to do so.

Beautiful new bridge with an ugly ass black stripe on it. 😡😡

Huh? There was a truck on the MMP bridge, the driver discharges a shotgun, and you call Community Watch, as opposed to 9-1-1. What am I missing?

Well, having been a LEO, I kind of knew who to call and when to call.

What good would have it done to call 911 for something that happened hours earlier and no one was in immediate danger when I passed over the bridge?

Community watch to get one of their guys out there to see if any damage had been done by the idiot firing the shotgun and I also knew they could immediately transfer me to the SCSO non-emergency number so I could report it to them.

Anything else you need to know as to why I do things in the order I do them?

How did you know it was a truck and not a car?

Take a deep breath. Your post was convoluted, to say the least. It sounded like you saw it happen, which I think anyone would infer from reading your post, especially since you said it was a truck, and that a shotgun was used. Geesh

From the imprint of the rough tread of the tire; never seen that rough of a tread on a car.

I knew a shotgun was used due to the empty 12 gauge shell casing left on the bridge.

Anything else you want to criticize?

Your post seems to indicate you witnessed the incident. Perhaps saying your prior experience and evidence on the scene lead to your conclusion and subsequent call to the Community Watch,

KC, thank you for taking on the responsibility and putting in the effort to look out for the best interest of our community. Most people would just drive by and shrug their shoulders. Knowing that you are a former State Trooper, I have trust in your assessment of the situation you unfortunately came upon. Thanks again!

I'm confused... you say this in the OP:

So that was in real time.

Then you say this:

And that is after the fact.

The question still arises....being in law enforcement?....why not call 911 when the incident occured?

So you saw the truck, then you say from the imprint of the rough tread on the tire you could tell it was a truck, when asked how could you tell if a car or truck?

Sorry........crap makes no sense at all
