Default Freedom Plaza via Golf Cart?

I was down in Freedom Plaza today (for those of you unfamiliar with it, it is on SR 44, just west of the Center for Advanced Care at Brownwood complex) and there were a few golf carts, not street legal, in the parking lot.

Is that plaza golf cart accessible from The Villages? Legally, I mean.

When Sunny Pint was there they suggested cutting across the grass next to (but not on) the sidewalk. On the road would be illegal, on the sidewalk would be illegal, on the grass would be up to whoever owns the grass.

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.

It's not a very long illegal trek along the sidewalk from the Advanced Care parking lot to the Freedom Plaza parking lot. I suspect that's the route that is used. Illegal, for sure, but probably unlikely to get into much trouble doing it that way.

I don't think there is a legal way to get there.

Edit: Actually I looked at the satellite view from Google Maps and it looks like the grass along the sidewalk actually has tire tracks worn in. It's only about 500 feet or so, so that might even be totally legal. Seems unlikely that any law enforcement agency would bother getting involved.
