I am a single person who would be perfectly happy with a one bedroom and bath type house. My friends and family tell me they would definitely come to visit me when I move to TV, nessitating a need for an addition bedroom and bath to accomodate them.
I was wondering if the great members of this forum can share their experience with how often do they receive visitors whether they be family or friends. 2, (to) B, (be), N,(in), T,(the), V,(villages). Regards, Joe |

Joe,
I don't think there are any 1 bed/bath homes in TV anyway. 2/2 is the smallest I've seen. But someone else will have to answer the visitor question. |

There are some lovely 1B, 1B villas on the north side of TV. But today you can probably buy 2B, 2B for a reasonable price and be safe.

Agree that there are 1/1 North of 466. When wife and I said we were buying in TV, and friends, relatives said they would visit. We told them nicely that we were not running a "B & B" in our retirement and that we would be happy to suggest what area Hotels they could stay at during their visit! And yes we did buy a 2/2 CYV, and that second bedroom........it is our Home Theater that the wife and I always wanted.

This one is probably a bit hard to generalize. I suspect answers would vary quite a bit, depending on individual circumstances. We've only owned a home in TV since Oct., don't live there FT and have had parents visit once, friends visit once, and other friends down coming in April, for just one day (they are staying in Orlando). Keep in mind, though, that my parents live in Boca Raton and our visitor friends live in Atlanta, only about a seven hour drive. I'm with AG. I don't know that I would feel obliged to purchase more house than I wanted to accomodate casual visitors. There are nice hotels in TV and many nearby. If you mean children and grandchildren, that's a different story. ![]() |

I thought of a 1B/1Bath villa when I moved here and I am so glad I didn't do it. I have a 2B/2Bath and it is so much better. I was also told that the resale of a 1B/1Bath is very poor and I have seen that in the neighborhood where I live. There are at least 2 with For Sale signs that have been there for a few years while the 2B/2Baths sell in no time. Also, with no cellars I'm sure you will appreciate the extra bedroom and closet.

I just didn't see any new ones being built or in the model lineup. Maybe they stopped this model?

You will get soooooooo many visitors you wont believe it. We've had company from Pa. in and out for the past 2 weeks. A guest bedroom in a must, as is a guest bath.

We just moved from a two bedroom to a three bedroom home so we can have a permanent guest room with bathroom plus a den/mancave/third guest bedroom. So I would respectfully suggest that you would be much happier with a 2/2 than a 1/1. Don't forget, if you decide you need a larger home, it is expensive to move!!

I have to agree with the 2B/2B. I am single but have an "older" 2B/2B designer with split bedrooms. I love it- while my friends are respectful not to "welcome themselves" when I am in the TV I did have 2 sets of friends come last year for stays and it worked well. The bedroom and bathroom where they stayed is at one end of the house and my bed/bath at the other so they had their privacy and I had mine. I have my desk in the second bedroom so when I don't have guests (which is most of the time) it is my "office". The second bedroom has a Murphy bed that folds up into the wall (it came with the house) so it makes it easier to use as an office.
I would definitely suggest 2B/2B, with the split bedroom design if possible- makes everyone more at ease.

We've been here about 2-1/2 yrs. Bought 3 BR/2B home so we would have room for company. When we first got here, I was told you have to have a daily appt book so you can keep up with all the activities---well, the first year we were here, it was more like a hotel reservation book--who was coming -when, etc. Has slowed down some but we don't mind it at all----Love to have our family and close friends come as often as they want. Love sharing the Villages with them.

We have friends from Canada who have visited regularly for the past three winters. On this trip, they bought a house in The Bubble. They are so excited and I'm so happy for them.
So sometimes your visitors will turn into neighbours!
