Get your point? No, all the cart drivers that read TOTV are very aware of cart safety.
It's some of the other 150,000 that don't read TOTV that are not getting your advice.

And likewise, I hope it will make the idiot bike riders aware of the risks they present as well. It's a 2 way street, no matter how much of a bike enthusiast you happen to be.

On the Historic side, we have mostly just the public streets. There's one MMP that runs along 441 from the Archery Range and Paradise Park, to the Veterinarian's office near that side gate into the Silver Lake area on the way to the Post Office.

I have no problem at all sharing the road with cars, pedestrians, and golf carts. I often ride from my house way up on the northwestern corner of the Historic Section (near Paradise Ave/West Schwartz/Lauren) down to Silver Lake, and then back up via St. Andrew's to the country club to get home again.

I'd be incredibly hesitant to ride my bike on Morse, Buena Vista, or El Camino Real. I would not ride on 441, 466, or 466A at all. I'd walk my bike across the street if I needed to cross at all.

If I had to ride in the area of a roundabout, and there was a golf cart tunnel, I'd *probably* ride to the corner, watch for traffic, and walk my bike across the street rather than ride my bike around the circle or through the tunnel.

I'd feel 100% comfortable riding on the MMPs (other than tunnels). They just don't intimidate me at all and I'm respectful of people who want to pass in their golf carts. Been riding my bicycle regularly since I was 3 years old, I'm not about to let some grumpy old ferts stop me now.

How about instead of trying to find faults with others we all act friendly towards one another - it just might work wonders.
I've never seen a bike rider run a golf cart off the path. Your response will be that bikes should not ride in the middle of the lane but far to the right. Not only is that dangerous but encourages carts to try and pass in the same lane. Not all golf cart drivers are rude but there are a lot that do dangerous things around bikes merely to save a few seconds.

Why is it such a bad thing to ride my bike on the far right so that golf carts can pass? I do it on the public streets all the time so that cars AND golf carts can pass. It really isn't a big deal.

Since you already know what my response will be (and I thought only my wife had that superpower) then maybe I should just accept your schooling and go sit in a corner???

I've never seen (or experienced) a golf cart driver run a bicyclist off the path. I have seen the suggestion that bikes *should* run the golf carts off the path in a recent thread.

We're still talking about the MMP, right? Bikes *should* ride towards the right edge of their MMP lane. But, since each of the lanes in the MMP are fairly narrow, "towards the right edge" is pretty much in the middle of the lane. In any case, just as on the roads, vehicles (golf carts) should move to the opposite lane to pass a bicycle when safe to do so. I doubt if it is physically possible for a golf cart and a bicycle to fit side by side in a single line of the MMP.

Moving to the other lane of the MMP (and the road) is what I've done every time I've needed to pass a bicyclist, is what I've experienced when I was on a bicycle, and is what I've seen others do. No doubt there are some drivers out there who do stupid things when passing bicyclists but I've not encountered one yet.

It’s been my experience on multiple occasions that bikers pass by me on a walking path without warning and way to close. Some are rude with a sense of ownership of the pathway. While walking my dog, a warning of “ passing on the left” as an example would be most welcomed. I have

I would assume that they complain because they are worried about risking their "life and limbs". If there were more "no golf carts" around, maybe they would complain less.

We always try to let walkers know we’re passing but if they are wearing ear buds not going to hear us

That reminds me of the attitude that very young children are showing when they play, "We don't stop for no one".
