Yes,.....and the real question is how some posters identify golf carts that belong to Seasonal Residents as opposed to Froggies who get frustrated that they cannot park everywhere they can during the summer.

I was in Subway yesterday and saw a compact car with Florida Tags pull into a space which contained a single golf cart. We always assume that the cart owner is the culprit but it is always not the case.

Having worked hundreds of accidents as a LEO, “them” is directed to EVERYONE, not just the returnees from the north.

Default Friendly request

Walking on Hogeye path:

Bikers:
Please slow down when approaching walker from the front or back.
If approaching from the back either call out or ring bell. Many people have hearing problems and can't hear the bell, so please slow way down. Many of us walk our dogs and they wander from side to side on the path. We don't want to have a biker hurt or our pets run over. PLEASE SLOW DOWN. ESPECIALLY APPROACHING FROM BEHIND THE WALKER.

THANK YOU

Most important point here is walking facing the traffic. You must keep an eye on traffic.

The other reminder, which I witnessed yesterday, is allowing young children to drive golf carts. A grandfather had his 10 year old grandson sitting in the back where the golf clubs go and hanging onto the basket so as not to fall out. His 5 year old granddaughter was sitting between his legs with hands on the steering wheel and weaving back and forth across the path has other carts are approaching and following. It appeared at first the driver was drunk. So dangerous.

1) Parking spaces hold 2 golf carts, one forward and one back. Also be careful to leave enough room for the car next to the space to be able to open the door.

2) When you are out walking for exercise or walking the dog, always walk facing oncoming traffic. With electric and quieter gas carts, you'll never hear em coming if your back is to them.

Be Safe.
Also — read the little brochure that shows how to drive the roundabouts!

Walkers are supposed to walk against traffic and bikers ride with traffic. If a biker is approaching from behind either the biker or walker is doing something wrong.

This morning in total darkness, there were two walkers with their backs to traffic walking in the golf cart path which was along side a sidewalk on St. Charles--last year a woman was killed doing the something when it was light out

I don't think that rule applies to Hogeye Path.

The path is not that wide and many people like to walk side-by-side.

When we ride our bikes on that path we are very careful. When we get near walkers we go very slowly and make sure the walkers know we are there before we pass them.

Is Hogeye a walking path? Meaning no carts? I don't know. If an MMP obey traffic rules and laws

We were driving (on the street) yesterday when we saw a cart on a MMP with someone standing on the back (where the golf-clubs go). It looked to be an adult. Couldn't see if the seat was full as they rounded a corner and we continued on our way. THAT is way too dangerous and stupid besides!!
