Default Garage attic Stairs

I would like to install a set of pull down stairs in my garage. I am wondering if anyone here has done it and has some suggestions from experience. Also, where can I buy them? I want a good sturdy set.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

Home Depot and Lowes's have them in one convenient location along with the "already cut" boards that you'll want to put floor in attic. You can get aluminum or wooden. I opted for wood. They are all you need, in my opinion. I may put a vent in the middle of the door, my neighbor suggested that and it makes a lot of sense to me.

Not a hard job to install. The instructions are easy to understand. You will probably need an extra pair of hands or two.

I had someone put in the attic stairs and plywood flooring. They did a great job and I did not have to lift a finger. Check out the Daily Sun want ad listings for someone to do it for you.

I did my own in NJ but I was 25 years younger. I figured this was easier and it was not expensive.
