Default Garage door opening by itself

Hello all - we have a MVP garage door opener which is opening on its own - we assume someone in the area has the same radio frequency as us, or something like that. Any ideas how to get over this problem, as its a pain to keep locking the door everytime we go out. Thanks

Utube how to reset your code on MVP. Our second house, every code was the same on our house. So one could open up all the doors at when you pushed the button

I had a similar problem, clear ALL of the codes, then reprogram for your remotes.

Can you recommend a website or video on how to do this? We have the exact same issue with our neighbor three doors up opening up our golf cart door. Thing is, our own openers won't open the same door that far away!...

Two steps:

Step one, clear memory:

clear mvp garage opener - Google Search

Step two, reprogram remotes:

reprogram mvp garage door - Google Search

Change your code, Utube has a video of how to do this.

That had happened to us a number of times. Easy to fix with codes . We usually have been aware of what neighbor was involved as well.

Last time we had that happen it was caused by a short circuit. Is your remote opening their door as well?

After fighting the same issue for three years I finally replaced it! End of problems.

It's good advice for clearing all preset codes and starting fresh.

I also recommend choosing a time of day when your nearest neighbor is unlikely to be using their door remotes, as this can help eliminate the possibility of cross-programming.

I experienced a similar issue when I was programming an extra remote while my neighbor was using theirs at the same time.

You have received good answers here already but I’ll add mine because it’s different. My door started behaving poorly after nearby lightning strike, I called repairman to replace door opener. When he arrived he said he could fix my opener without replacing it. I asked “ for free?” He said “no, there would be a charge”. I then said, “ replace with Chamberlain, because I’m not paying one penny to fix this piece of junk RoMac”. Now my door is quiet, and works like it supposed to.

MVP garage door openers can inadvertently add a neighbor’s code into their memory. Clear all codes from your opener and reprogram your original codes, which is easier than changing to new codes.
