Default Opinion - best cell phone carrier in the Villages

I am one that has used the tracphone - but - thought it may be time to get rid of the land line - and go to a better cell phone. What better place to ask than TOTV - mostly need to know best cell phone service in the villages. And if you want to say what kind of cell phone you use - and why - that would be a bonus.
Thanks

We have used many since moving here in 2002 and your question will get many answers, everyone has there preference for different reasons, plans, cell coverage, phones etc. I can say the one we really had issues with was Sprint, many people like Verizon, we use ATT, mainly because I have a lot of grandfathered perks with them, plus after using others I seem to get the best cell coverage from them pus yes I worked for ATT for 32 years and get a very slight discount LOL Just do your research and get what suits your usage and life best! On phones again a personal preference. I have had both IPhone and Android phones both have their own pros and cons. Android offers a lot of "fun" stuff but after having one for awhile I switched back to the Iphone and my husband will at the end of the year when he can change out his phone. Mainly because we also left Windows computers and went to Mac's and now everything is connected and can be shared. Still getting used to Macs but reliability is so much better! I for one didn't like the bigger phones loving my IPhone again, again very secure and reliable! Do your research and go with what you think you will enjoy and what your lifestyle needs.

Verizon. Best coverage, most 4G coverage. My company has 55 phones. I let the employees pick. Probably 20% have I-Phones, 10% have Blackberry, 10% Nokia, 20% Samsung............it's all over the board.

Did I hear correctly that ATT is getting ready to build a new cell tower somewhere south of 466A? If so that might impact this decision.

I have heard that about Verizon also but I work with a number of people that have it and cannot get a signal when I am able to. Plus ATT has many more towers going up in this area if they haven't already. No carrier is perfect so as I said do research and see who offer the best for your individual needs. Go with the best deal for you!

If you plan to use a cell phone rather than a landline, one easy way to find out what the best coverage is in your home is to invite all of your neighbors (and/or friends) over for a party. As you wander around, ask people what provider they use. Ask them to let you try their phone to get an idea of the signal. Test out each carrier. By the end of the evening, you should have an answer.

Do keep in mind that every carrier has "bad" spots where the signal falls off. There are also some days when signals are mysteriously worse than other days.

I've had AT&T for 12 years now and used them in Canada, Alaska, and all over the lower 48 states. Have rarely had no coverage when others did have coverage. Have had coverage several times when no one else can get a signal.

Your mileage may vary.

Good luck

I like ATT because once u have an M-cell in your house u have 5 bars all the time. I get great coverage with ATT and I use and iPhone 4S . We will be going to the 5S shortly. As another poster mentioned we too have gone to iPads and Apple laptops and so everything is easy to access and transfer over with no worries about viruses and hacking.

Verizon Wireless! In ten years in TV I have never had a call dropped or failed to complete a call.
