Absolutely enjoying it, the cart is such a minor issue.

If forced to choose, I would keep the gas. We had our exhaust pipe moved, we have a four seater . You don't spend that much time in tunnels.

I think your goals may be causing you to prejudge.
We too have one of each----one for short trips (electric) and gas Club Car for the long trips around TV. This works well for us but to each his own. Gas is remanufactured and very little smell. A gas cart is going to be a bit noisy as that is the nature of the beast. Some are more noisy than others!

If you want more mileage out of an electric then you can outfit your cart with eight 6-volt batteries. This is typically yielding 60 miles on a charge. In that case my butt would give out before the batteries did.

Default gas carts

In all my years driving around the Villages,I've never seen anybody pouring gas from a can into a golf cart.[although I'm sure it has happened] However I've seen numerous instances of carts running out of a charge and getting towed.I prefer my gas cart but have to admit driving my friend's electric cart is so quiet that it is quite enjoyable.

Default I love the smell of gas fumes!

Could that be what's wrong with me? LOL. Hubby and I are big drag race fans!

The Patio Villa we're renting for the week came with a new Yamaha cart, never drove a gas cart before.

First it smells anyone that says it doesn't I just don't believe, and yes in the tunnels it's worse,
and now it's not that crowded around here.

When behind another gas cart it smells twice as bad (theirs and yours).

Secondly noisy, I've read here that they are not, again not true, they certainly are noisy reminds me of my sit down lawn mower at home.

This should be called an egg beater not a cart, it vibrates a lot, the canopy and other parts rattle.

Last point for any cart, my cart at home I cut the steering post 4" it is much more comfortable to drive I forgot how high the standard steering wheel height is.

.Just my opinion folks
Hey jimbo, the problem lies in that all those rented golf carts are beat to death by every Tom, Dick, and Harry that comes here and I dont think they are maintained as well as your own. You know what they say " its not mine so who cares". I have an 09 Yamaha gas and its pretty cool. No beefs from me.

Again this is not a rented cart, it is the homeowners.

But because of the comments I received here about the fact that it is this particular cart and not the normal gas cart I test drove a new one telling the dealer in advance what I found on the one I had, he gave me a demo in new one a few months old.

Guess what it still stinks, still makes as much noise, sorry still don't like them.

Went down the road to the Club Car dealer took a demo, electric just is so much nicer.

To each his own.

Just wondering if someone is here for only a week why would they spend some much time on TOTV on such a pointless issue

If it's pointless why would anyone read the thread.

I wonder why it matters how long I'm here, or how one spends his time...thought it was my prerogative..

It's not pointless to him and 68 other posts on this thread. It's his trip, he can do what he wants.

There are carts that will only yield about 30 miles on a charge, but if that is a concern then buy a better electric cart or put up with the terrible noise and smell from a gas one. I can go from the VA clinic on 42 north all the way to brownwood and back twice before running low on charge. I agree, I would be wore out before the batteries.

each is entitled to their opinion. It seems important to Jimbo, but perhaps not so much to you and that's OK for both of you!

Default Par Car ?

Has anyone checked out the Par Cars Electric version ? They did a test run and got 80 miles on a charge . Seems like if you want an electric cart this should exceed any daily needs for range in TV.

Pretty simple gas carts are so much better.
