I was just reading today that there are over fifty thousand golf carts in the villages. They went on to say that ninety percent of them are gas models.

It's less than half, Jimbo...just drive around and observe. Did you ever notice that trying to get rid of an electric is a tough sell?
When my gas cart's fuel guage shows half full, it's half full. When my neighbor's electric gauge shows half full, then minutes later it's dead on the path it makes me love my gas even more.

I was told the electric gauges are useless, that's why I use a kitchen timer.

Default Love it

We really love and enjoy our 2011 gas Yamaha that we bought last year. Lots of miles per tank of gas and no problems with batteries and such. To each his own.

The Patio Villa we're renting for the week came with a new Yamaha cart, never drove a gas cart before.

First it smells anyone that says it doesn't I just don't believe, and yes in the tunnels it's worse,
and now it's not that crowded around here.

When behind another gas cart it smells twice as bad (theirs and yours).

Secondly noisy, I've read here that they are not, again not true, they certainly are noisy reminds me of my sit down lawn mower at home.

This should be called an egg beater not a cart, it vibrates a lot, the canopy and other parts rattle.

Last point for any cart, my cart at home I cut the steering post 4" it is much more comfortable to drive I forgot how high the standard steering wheel height is.

.Just my opinion folks
RELAXXXXXXXXX YOU ARE ONLY RENTING IT. YOU DIDNT' BUY IT. TO EACH THERE OWN OPINION. SOUNDS LIKE YOU GOT A BAD ONE, ALOT OTHERS LOVE THEIRS. I WOULN'T DRAW A CONCULSION THAT ALL GAS CARTS ARE BAD , BECAUSE OF ONE...... LIKE CARS, SOME ARE GREAT AND OTHERS DON'T WORK FOR SOME. I WOULD TRY DIFFERENT BRANDS AND DIFFERENT CARTS BEFORE MAKING SUCH A STRONG STATEMENT. BUT TO EACH THEIR OWN. WISH YOU LUCK WITH WHICH EVER ONE YOU CHOOSE. THE ONES WITH RENTALS ARE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE THAN THE PRIVATELY OWNED ONES. THEY ARE NOT MAINTAINED AND DRIVEN ON A DAILY BASIS FOR ONE. I KNOW BECAUSE I DROVE ONE FROM A RENTAL, AND THEN A NEIGHBORS CART. LIKE A VOLKSWAGEN TO A CADILLAC IN DIFFERENCE AND PERFORMANCE.

If they are analog or those green to red dials they are not the best.

Those are just sub standard gauges, I have digital that are accurate.

What you're describing should not be occurring.

I know they don't sell them around here, they are about $35.

After reading all these very divided opinions (I don't drive either type), I next read the thread on lovebugs and it hit me: the gas carts are bringing in the lovebugs since they like fumes and heat so the conclusion is those who like their gas carts love the lovebugs!

Default The four strokes

Wow ! The gas engines in my 2 Yamaha's have 4
Where did the the other 3 for club car go
Got a biker guy pretty upset once. His knock off made in China Harley shirt had Suck Bang Blow on the back.

Well when I went to Automotive School
Suck is the intake stroke,
Squeeze is the compression.
Bang is the ignition
and Blow is the exhaust. Hence a four stroke engine

When I told him it was impossible for his Harley shirt to run, He was missing a cycle he got mad. " My cycle is not missing! It is right outside-"

Can't imagine a one stroke

Just saying!
